We are seeking a Appian Developer for a contract position.

The Position:
iQuasar LLC is seeking a highly motivated Appian Developer with Appian development experience to support enterprise case management, data integration, and workflow automation initiatives within complex federal environments, including the Department of Labor (DOL) FLAG ecosystem. This role supports both O&M and DME activities within an Agile, DevSecOps-driven environment..
Role Specific Duties/ Role Responsibilities:
Appian Development & Configuration
  • Design, develop, and maintain Appian applications, including workflows, interfaces, process models, and business rules supporting case management functions
  • Implement Appian objects (records, process models, SAIL interfaces, integrations) aligned to enterprise architecture standards
  • Support full lifecycle delivery across development, testing, deployment, and production support

System Integration & Data Engineering
  • Develop and maintain integrations between Appian and external systems, including:
    • REST and SOAP APIs
    • Kafka/DataHub event-driven pipelines
    • Relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Support data transformation, validation, and pipeline activities across cloud environments

Agile Development & Delivery
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, retrospectives)
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Technical Leads to translate requirements into user stories and technical solutions
  • Ensure traceability across requirements, design, development, and testing within tools such as JIRA and GitLab

DevSecOps & Quality Assurance
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and secure code practices
  • Support unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and defect resolution
  • Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility, security standards (NIST 800-53), and organizational DevSecOps practices

Cloud & Platform Support
  • Support applications deployed in AWS and/or Azure environments, including containerized deployments where applicable
  • Assist in performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization of applications using cloud-native tools and dashboards
  • Contribute to scalability and availability improvements, particularly during high-volume processing periods

Operations & Maintenance Support
  • Analyze and resolve production issues, defects, and enhancement requests in a mission-critical O&M environment
  • Participate in on-call or surge support during peak operational periods
  • Continuously identify opportunities for performance optimization, automation, and cost efficiency

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3-8+ years of software development experience, including:
    • 2+ years of Appian development experience
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Appian (process models, SAIL, integrations)
    • SQL and relational databases
    • RESTful APIs and system integration
  • Experience supporting Agile development environments
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-performance, mission-critical environments
  • Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years to obtain the required clearance

Desired Skills and Certifications:
  • Experience supporting federal systems, particularly within DOL, IRS, or similar agencies
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka/DataHub)
  • Experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, or large-scale data migrations
  • Exposure to DevSecOps pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, automated testing frameworks)
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience supporting low-code/no-code platforms beyond Appian
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development, data validation, or analytics tools (Python, R, Tableau)
  • Appian Certified Associate or Senior Developer
  • AWS or Azure Cloud Certification
  • Agile/Scrum Certification (e.g., CSM, SAFe)
