As Voice Communication Specialist, you willoperatetelecommunication telephone console systems and associated equipment to coordinate essential correspondences.This role is a steppingstone tonumerousother positions within the Cleveland Clinic system, including PSS.
A caregiver in this position worksdaysfrom8:00am to 5:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Receive andscreenall incoming and outgoing calls todetermineproper routing and provide system usage information and Foundation directoryassistance.
- Place and recordall outgoing local long distance and international calls for doctors and other hospital personnel in the manner described by procedures.
- Direct hospital personnel request conference calls to conferencecompanyas proceduresdescribed.
- Provide assistance tohospital patients with dialing instructions, placingcallsand answering questions.
- Provide overhead and long-range paging services to the FHC and other outside callers as applicable.
- Processgroup alerttesttwice daily.
- Expedite medical emergency and crises intervention procedures using page and established procedures.
- Assiststaff with out-of-service pages by performing program changes using page systems.
- Process calls using associated telephone equipment,such asSL1auxiliary telephone backup systems, messaging technologyequipmentand alpha units.
- Assistpersonnel in contacting on-call physicians and other on-call personnel.
- Provide outside callers with medicalassistanceby contacting on-call physicians forappropriate servicesas applicable.
- Operate various systems and facsimile equipment.
- Send domestic and international telegrams using telex format on CRT.
- Receive, log anddispatchincoming telex and facsimile messages.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- HighSchoolDiploma
- A minimum of 1 year of Call Center or telephone operator experience
- Or 2 years of Customer Service experience
- Understanding of networking/distributed computing environment conceptsandprinciples of client/server configuration
- Excellent knowledge of messaging technology and project management skills
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Experience in a healthcare or a related field
Physical Requirements:
- Typical physical demands include a high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC, normal or corrected vision, extensive sitting and frequent walking, occasional lifting or carrying 5 to 15 pounds.
