Job description

Community Living and Support Services (CLASS) is a leader in providing high quality, person-centered care and support to people with disabilities and seniors throughout Allegheny County. ***CLASS is currently offering a $1,300 sign-on bonus for this position***

Basic Function: To provide non-medical care and assist adults with disabilities and senior citizens with PAS (Personal Assistance Services) and/or housekeeping services in their homes in meeting daily needs, companionship and improve their overall quality of life whilst ensuring that the individual's dignity is maintained

  • We will ensure that your comfort and skill level complement the participant's needs.
  • We offer extensive and flexible training and support prior to and after your assignment in the home.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Duties may include, but are not limited to assistance with:
  • Meal preparation
  • Shopping
  • Arranging transportation
  • General housekeeping
  • Laundry
  • Facilitating appointments
  • Few individuals need assistance with the following:
  • Transfers
  • Bathing
  • Toileting

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be able to travel locally.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to treat participants with respect and dignity.
  • Possess basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Ability to follow a participant's service plan.
  • Possess basic cooking and housekeeping skills.
