Job Description A highly innovative enterprise cybersecurity team is expanding its Generative AI capabilities and is seeking an experienced AI Prompt Engineer to help shape the next generation of AI-powered security research and testing. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who have moved beyond simply using AI tools and have actively built, refined, and deployed sophisticated prompt-driven solutions that solve complex technical problems.
Working alongside AI specialists, software engineers, and cybersecurity professionals, you will develop advanced prompting strategies and AI workflows that support security analysis, vulnerability discovery, and automated testing initiatives. The team is focused on practical application, rapid experimentation, and delivering value quickly, making this role ideal for individuals who enjoy building, iterating, and seeing their work have immediate impact.
This position offers the chance to work with leading-edge language models and emerging AI technologies in a collaborative, research-oriented environment where innovation and execution are equally important.
This is a 12-month contract opportunity based in Chandler, AZ with a hybrid schedule requiring three days onsite each week. Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience creating and optimizing advanced prompts for Large Language Models
  • Hands-on experience developing AI frameworks, prompt orchestration solutions, or AI testing harnesses
  • Strong knowledge of Generative AI technologies and frontier LLM platforms
  • Background in cybersecurity, security operations, vulnerability management, or security testing
  • Understanding of common security threats, attack vectors, malware, and defensive security concepts
  • Experience supporting initiatives involving SAST, DAST, penetration testing, or vulnerability assessments
  • Professional software development experience using Python, Go, .NET, or comparable technologies
  • Ability to evaluate AI-generated outputs and improve model performance through experimentation
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience evaluating, stress testing, or challenging AI models in adversarial environments
  • Exposure to AI security research or AI-focused cyber defense initiatives
  • Knowledge of threat analysis, network security, ingress and egress controls, or perimeter security concepts
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Cloud SQL, or similar database technologies

  • Quickly prototype new concepts and translate successful experiments into repeatable solutions
