Job description

Team Red Dog is building a pipeline of qualified candidates for an anticipated AI Prompt Engineer opportunity with a premier enterprise technology client expected to open within the next month. This upcoming fully remote role will support enterprise AI initiatives focused on conversational AI, generative AI experiences, prompt engineering, and intelligent automation solutions across customer-facing and internal platforms. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in prompt engineering, software development, testing, debugging, and AI workflow optimization while helping improve AI response quality, scalability, and user experience across complex enterprise environments. This is an exciting opportunity to position yourself early for a high-impact role supporting next-generation AI solutions within a world-class technology organization.
Top Required Skills (Must Haves):
  1. Prompt Engineering & Conversational AI - Experience designing, optimizing, and testing prompts, conversational workflows, and AI response strategies for enterprise AI applications, chatbots, or virtual assistants using LLM and generative AI technologies.
  2. Software Engineering & Troubleshooting - Strong programming and debugging skills with experience developing, testing, and supporting large-scale software systems, automation workflows, and production AI implementations.

• Fine-tune AI-driven conversational interfaces and support sophisticated software implementation projects
• Gather and analyze business and technical requirements to build scalable AI prompt solutions aligned to organizational objectives
• Document conversational flows, prompt logic, implementation requirements, and technical specifications
• Recommend prompt optimization strategies that improve AI response quality, usability, and conversational accuracy
• Configure and customize AI-powered software solutions based on customer and stakeholder requirements
• Develop testing procedures, validation plans, and deployment support processes for conversational AI systems
• Build and maintain prompt orchestration workflows, automation capabilities, and response generation functionality
• Enhance existing prompt libraries and AI workflows to support evolving business needs and enterprise standards
• Perform troubleshooting, debugging, unit testing, and root cause analysis across modern and legacy systems
• Support migration activities, user acceptance testing (UAT), and production deployments
• Conduct quality assurance reviews to validate AI interaction quality and system performance
• Resolve defects and production issues identified during implementation and post-deployment validation activities
• Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product, UX, and business stakeholders to continuously improve AI experiences
• Maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, and prompt governance standards
The expertise you bring:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field
• 5-7 years of experience in software engineering, AI engineering, prompt engineering, or related technical roles
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, software architecture, and system design
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale software systems and AI-driven applications
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, testing, and root cause analysis experience across production systems
• Experience implementing conversational AI, prompt engineering, or generative AI solutions
• Strong programming skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
• Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into scalable technical solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience collaborating across technical and non-technical teams
• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality technical solutions
• Experience working with large language models (LLMs), conversational AI platforms, or generative AI technologies preferred
• Familiarity with prompt engineering best practices, conversational design principles, and AI response optimization preferred
• Experience supporting enterprise AI deployments, QA processes, release management, and Agile/Scrum development environments preferred
• Strong analytical thinking, process improvement, and problem-solving capabilities
