Job description

Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. Rogers Group is currently seeking a Manager of Equipment Operations in Nashville, TN. This position reports directly to the Director of Corporate Equipment. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our operations. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Oversight for maintenance improvement programs/initiatives for the company's entire mobile equipment fleet. 

  • Perform maintenance audits for both aggregate and construction lines of business. 

  • Ensure all corporate and local maintenance programs & practices are implemented and in place. 

  • Where needed, work with Area and Plant Managers to implement any necessary proactive maintenance practices to drive high availability and low operating cost.

  • Assist with establishing PM standards for all mobile equipment assets and oversight for adherence to those standards.

  • Review Dealer quotes & workorders as needed to ensure repair cost are inline.

  • Work with local management on all major repairs performed by outside vendors.

  • Mediate issues between vendors and RGI management as necessary.

  • Maximize Rogers Group's Oil Analysis Program. Work with Area Managers to ensure data is accurate and actions are taken when sample results indicate. 

  • Investigate root causes for equipment failures. Work with Area and Director of Corporate Equipment on findings.

  • Implementing safety improvements to mobile equipment where needed. 

  • Implement business processes to eliminate future failure.

  • Gather data, construct, and share best practices throughout the company.

  • Respond to calls concerning equipment problems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field of study preferred or 10+ years of industry related experience managing mining & construction equipment.
  • Excellent computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office; Excel, Words, Power Point. 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate with vendors on pricing.
  • In-depth, hands-on experience with maintenance and repair of rolling stock.
  • Must be willing to travel.
