Job description

Position Summary
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Hospitalist with Granville Health System in Oxford, NC, is responsible for examining and treating patients independently within their scope of practice and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Granville Health System is a rural, county-based, 62-bed hospital 40-miles North of Raleigh.
This role ensures proper illness and injury care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. The APP Hospitalist relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and performs a variety of tasks. The role involves providing direct inpatient care to adult patients. Participation in the hospital's safety and infection control programs is mandatory to reduce risk to employees.
  • Provide direct in-patient care to adult patients.
  • Responsible for providing episodic and chronic care, as well as screening and educational assistance to patients.
  • Conduct inpatient and outpatient consultations in internal medicine.
  • Provide quality care to patients by following the most current evidence-based guidelines and procedures of practice.
  • Adhere to all institutional policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
  • Take part in quality assurance audits, including continuing education, and peer review.
  • Participate in continuing education and training to keep abreast of current developments in the industry.
  • Recognize the diversity of the patient population and treat all warmly and kindly.
  • Familiarity with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
  • Knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding.
  • Sufficient clinical knowledge and experience to provide clinical competence and meet institutional standards of care.
  • Interpersonal skills to deal harmoniously with staff, patients, and family members.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the responsibilities of the position.

Nurse Practitioner Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in area of specialty required
  • Certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)
  • State authority for advanced practice
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures

Physician Assistant Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in area of specialty required
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) as a PA-C.
