Title: Acupuncturist Survivorship Program (Please see requirements below) - NHMP DB Integrative Medicine - Primary work location is at iPark, 761 Main Ave, Norwalk, CT with a secondary location as needed at Danbury Hospital, 24 Hospital Ave, Danbury, CT. Per Diem, variable 8-hour shifts, 8:30am - 5:00pm.
Summary: Provides routine acupuncture and Traditional East Asian Medicine therapy services to Nuvance patients/clients. An acupuncturist may perform or prescribe the use of acupuncture, acupressure, nutrition, diet, and additional practices of Traditional East Asian Medicine as delineated under Connecticut acupuncture licensure to promote, maintain and restore health.
Responsibilities:
1. Provides acupuncture and Traditional East Asian medicine services to Integrative Medicine (IM) patients/clients that are safe, appropriate, and effective.
2. Effectively communicates with the IM interdisciplinary team. Attends and contributes to IM patient care conferences and departmental meetings. Consults with appropriate treatment staff regarding treatment plans when necessary.
3. Effectively communicates and explains procedures appropriate to patient/client needs and preferences.
4. Performs and documents initial health history, assessment, and evaluation of patient/client.
5. Performs and documents all sessions performed according to established guidelines.
6. Practices appropriate acupuncture techniques.
7. Maintains patient/client confidentiality and sensitivity during all patient/client interactions; reports any unusual patient/client interactions to supervisor immediately.
8. Develops, reviews, updates and implement educational materials to meet the needs of patients/clients, the public and professionals.
9. Participates in IM clinical research projects.
10. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein

12. Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
Education Required:
  • Must provide evidence of successful graduation (Master Level) from an ACAOM accredited acupuncture college or training program that is approved by the State of Connecticut.
  • Doctorate of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (DAOM) from an ACAOM accredited college is strongly preferred.
  • Must provide evidence of completion of at least 30 hours of continuing education in acupuncture over the last two-year period.

Experience:
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in providing acupuncture services preferred. Diplomate with NCCAOM preferred.
  • Experience with community acupuncture preferred.

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification:
  • Current and valid licensure as Licensed Acupuncturist (LAc) by the State of Connecticut

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Traditional East Asian Medicine, theory, principles, techniques, and methods. Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Self-directed and motivated to function independently, and effective as a team member. A commitment to the vision of Nuvance Integrative Medicine.

Salary Range: $41.00 - $76.16 hourly (Rate of pay per years of relative experience)
