Job description

About the Team

This role reports to the Senior Director, Roku Brand & Experience Marketing. Our team is responsible for driving awareness and preference for the Roku brand, our products, and our platform. We do this by educating consumers about Roku's unique, differentiated experience and clearly conveying the tangible, relatable consumer benefits of Roku to drive engagement with current customers and Roku hardware purchases. Among other functional areas, our team supports the Retail Sales and Strategy team, working as a true peer and strategic partner to those leaders on a day-to-day basis.

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Device Sales Marketing Manager to lead our marketing strategy, driving device sell-through across retail, e-tail, and direct-to-consumer channels. This is a senior role within Roku's marketing organization that serves as the primary partner for Roku's Retail Sales and Strategy team, sitting at the intersection of brand, product, and cross-channel marketing execution.

You will turn channel priorities, product stories, and business goals into high-impact marketing programs that improve conversion rates, strengthen Roku's presence across key retail environments, and drive device sales. You will own the strategy, build the playbook, and drive the results.

This is a highly visible role that requires both strategic leadership and hands-on execution. You should be equally comfortable shaping plans with senior leaders across Roku and working cross-functionally to bring those plans to life.

For Massachusetts Only - The estimated annual base salary for this position is between $255,000 - $330,000 annually. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location. This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

What you'll be doing
  • Own the holistic, cohesive marketing strategy, planning, and tactical execution of major retail moments (holiday, Back to School, etc.) across all sales channels
  • Serve as the senior marketing counterpart and strategic partner to Roku's Retail Sales and Strategy leadership, aligning marketing programs to channel strategies and sales goals across retail, e-tail, and direct-to-consumer
  • Partner with Retail Channel Marketing to develop and execute in-store merchandising, fixture and display programming, signage, and messaging approaches that attract customers, maximize space, and drive sales conversion
  • Lead e-tail marketing strategy across key retailers (Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and others), in partnership with Media Distribution, Paid Marketing, and other teams.
  • Spearhead structured A/B tests across product listings, promotional offers, sponsored placements, and creative content to identify and scale the strategies and tactics that drive optimal conversion
  • Provide guidance on retailer co-op and MDF budgets, ensuring dollars are allocated with rigor and accountability, directing spend to the highest-impact programs, and tracking ROI against clear performance metrics
  • Drive sales marketing on Roku.com. Develop distinct value propositions, promotional offers, and marketing strategies that give consumers compelling reasons to buy directly from Roku
  • Design and lead a continuous test-and-learn program across creative effectiveness, promotional mechanics, audience targeting, and channel mix using a data-driven, always-learning mindset
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Creative, Finance, Retail Sales, and broader Marketing leadership to ensure channel marketing is coordinated and aligned to Roku's overall device strategy and revenue goals
  • Interface with VP- and C-suite-level stakeholders; present strategy, results, and recommendations with clarity and conviction
We're excited if you have
  • 10+ years of marketing experience, with a clear emphasis on sales marketing, shopper marketing, and/or channel marketing
  • Deep expertise in retail marketing: understanding of planograms and retail space strategy, in-store display and messaging best practices, and experience working with major retail partners to execute impactful in-store marketing programs
  • Fresh retail craft and willingness to approach things differently, applying CPG-style thinking to consumer electronics
  • Demonstrated track record of driving measurable sales results through e-tail channel optimization, including A/B testing across product content, promotions, and paid placements on Amazon and other major online retailers
  • Experience managing direct-to-consumer sales marketing, including promotion design, offer testing, conversion rate optimization, and building distinct consumer reasons to buy from DTC
  • Familiarity with retail/e-tail dynamics, seasonal promotional planning, and high-velocity retail events (Prime Day, Black Friday, holiday, etc.)
  • Proven ability to manage and optimize large marketing budgets, with clear accountability for ROI and performance against business goals
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to design experiments, interpret results, and translate data into compelling strategy and action
  • Comfort working at the intersection of Marketing, Sales, and Finance. You can speak the language of each and hold your own in conversations about margin, sell-through, and return on ad spend
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to and influencing VP- and C-suite-level audiences through data-driven insights and rationale; executive presence and communication skills that instill confidence
  • Cross-functional leadership ability. You know how to build alignment and drive execution across teams where you don't have direct authority
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods is a plus
How will I use AI at Roku?

At Roku, we don't just use AI, we work with it. AI agents and smart tools help power drafts, analysis, and repetitive workflows, while our people bring direction, judgment, and accountability. We're looking for curious, adaptable builders who can show how they've used AI or automation to move faster, raise the bar, and scale their impact. We value your AI skills if have built fluency across the agentic engineering toolchain - coding harnesses like Claude Code or Cursor, MCP servers, custom skills, or agent frameworks. And you can describe projects where you shipped real work with these tools. You know how to drive an agent, verify its output, and ramp on an unfamiliar codebase with an agent helping you.
