Job description

Qualification:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have CPR/First Aid, Article 9, Prevention and Support Certificates etc
  • Must pass a background check and fingerprint clearance
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills preferred
  • Preferably have reliable transportation
  • Minimum age: 18 years or older
  • Preferably have experience supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist members in performing activities of daily living including but not limited to

    · Eating

    · Toileting and cleaning

    · Mobility

    · Transferring

  • Accompany members on group outings in the community.

  • Provides assistance, monitoring, and/or training to individuals in self-care, self-direction, independence, mobility, and learning as directed by the Individual Service Plan (ISP) to enhance each individual's skill development, health, freedom, and personal dignity.

  • Ability to teach members basic life skills such as shopping, banking, money management, access and use of community resources, and community survival skills etc.

  • Transports members to medical, vocational, social activities, day program etc.
  • Assist members in medication administration
  • Assists with safety skills, including but not limited to, basic first aid, fire drills, and handling emergency situations
  • Provides emotional/ social support to members when needed
  • Performs daily housekeeping chores which includes but not limited to cleaning restrooms, Vacuuming, dusting, moping etc.
