Job description

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
  • Provide clients with mobility assistance, transfers and help with exercises as needed
  • Prepare meals and help with feeding if necessary
  • Administer medication under the supervision of a nurse or other healthcare provider
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
  • Accompany clients to appointments and social outings
  • Monitor changes in client’s health and report any concerns
  • Provide companionship and emotional support

Qualifications

  • Proven work experience as a Direct Care Worker or similar role in healthcare
  • Ability to lift and transfer clients as needed
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Basic knowledge of housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
