United Community Options of South Florida serves children and adults with a wide range of needs and abilities, including physical, intellectual, neurological, and developmental disabilities. Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, grooming, dressing, toileting, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Encourage independence, self-advocacy, and participation in community activities.
  • Support individuals during recreational, social, educational, and community outings.
  • Implement Individual Support Plans (ISPs), behavior support plans, and other service plans.
  • Monitor and document consumer progress, behaviors, health concerns, and daily activities.
  • Assist with medication administration and health-related monitoring as trained and authorized.
  • Complete required documentation, including daily reports, incident reports, and program records.
  • Provide transportation to appointments, activities, and community events when required.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive living environment.
  • Follow all agency policies, safety procedures, confidentiality requirements, and emergency protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors, healthcare professionals, family members, and team members.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in human services, healthcare, behavioral health, education, caregiving, or developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass required background screenings and drug testing.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to safely assist individuals with mobility, transfers, and daily living activities.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
