Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Account Manager for Direct Buy accounts is responsible for the communication, coordination, and growth of assigned direct buy accounts and Independent Garden Centers. The Account Manager will also be responsible for effective communication with the purchasing staff, owners, and management of Dan & Jerry’s Greenhouses as well as employees of potential customers and customers doing business with Dan & Jerry’s Greenhouses. This is a salaried, benefited position that will work a "teacher's schedule"-40+ hours in peak season, 20-30 hours in the off season. This position works in our Monticello, MN office and is not eligible to work remotely.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (comprehensive, but not limited to):

  • Prepare Sell Sheets/Order Forms for all product, communicate and distribute to all current and potential customers.
  • Seek, respond, and follow through with potential customer leads, ensuring each is aligned well with our capabilities.
  • Visit accounts during season to ensure we are meeting or exceeding their expectations.
  • Maintain regular communication with each account to ensure successful future seasons.
  • Special Projects as Assigned

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Management experience in similar field preferred, not required.
  • Garden Center Merchandising experience preferred, not required.
  • At least 2 years of customer service experience.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School/GED or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Possesses a high level of written and oral communication skills. 
  • Strong personal presence with excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to work with a team to accomplish personal and organizational goals.
