Valbin is a leading language service provider to the government and private sector and is dedicated to delivering superior linguistic, analytical and cultural services to the diplomatic, defense, intelligence, and business sectors as well as corporate, private sector and business entities. We currently support a government customer which requires translations, as well as interpretations, from Vietnamese to English and vice versa, on an as needed basis.

Job Summary:

We are seeking professional Vietnamese Linguists that can provide accurate translations, free of errors in grammar, spelling or content, as well as Interpreters that can provide simultaneous interpretation and/or one-way interpretations.

For Interpretations, the meeting types range from General Meetings, Hearings, Panels, Digital Video Conferences (DVC), Conference calls to other mediums for discussions for both large and small settings. The timeframe ranges from extremely short (1-5 hours) to lengthy sessions (up to 12 hours per day). Occasional travel for on-site interpretation (CONUS) may be required.

The level of difficulty in the translations range from General, Semi-Technical, and Technical. There are several types of documents you will need to translate such as general documents of agreements, more complex legal or highly technical documents. The translation type ranges from formal, un-reviewed, comparison, summary and other special translation requests.

An understanding of trade and/or negotiation terminology is helpful. You must be able to accurately translate ambiguous terms, subtitles and nuances in your target language. Proofreading is required for all completed documents including legally binding translations.

Translation requirements and turnaround times vary depending on each individual request. Extreme Rush translation requests can be within an hour up to 24 hours.

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizen and residing within the U.S.
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must have 3+ Years Professional Translating experience
  • Must have 5+ Years Professional Interpreting experience
  • Certified by a Professional Organization (i.e. ATA, IACI, NAJIT etc.)
  • Must be able to pass a government issued Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
