Job Description
Location: East Dining
Pay = 14.73/hour
Note: Due to the minimum wage increase at MSU, the starting rate for this position will be $16 effective 8/9/26. Those hired prior to 8/9/26 will be brought to the new minimum.
As a part time Dining Worker, you will be responsible for assisting full-time staff members with the preparation, cooking, and serving of food for all meal options for that venue. You must also be knowledgeable of all relevant food safety regulations, standards, and guidelines to ensure the safe handling and serving of all meals to customers. It is your job to make sure the guests of Culinary Services receive the most outstanding customer service.
Typical Duties May Include:
• Cooking, preparing, and serving food in dining halls
• Kitchen clean up after meals are served
• Communicating with supervisors, managers, and other student team members to ensure customer assistance
• Coordinating with Student Supervisors job tasks to be completed each shift
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service
• Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
• Must be positive and respectful, especially when working with a diverse population
• Be able to work nights, early mornings, and weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
• Must be able to move up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time
Preferred Qualifications
Minor computer knowledge to be able to do online training
