Ayden Healthcare of Wauseon is seeking a Transportation DriverPosition Summary

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Transportation Driver to join our team at a Skilled Nursing Facility. The Driver is responsible for safely transporting residents to and from medical appointments, outings, and other scheduled destinations while ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety at all times.


Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate facility van to transport residents to appointments, hospitals, and community outings
  • Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle, including wheelchair securement when applicable
  • Ensure all passengers are properly secured with seat belts or mobility restraints
  • Maintain timely pick-up and drop-off schedules
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding resident needs and schedules
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
  • Keep vehicle clean, fueled, and in good working condition
  • Follow all local, state, and federal transportation regulations
  • Provide courteous, respectful interaction with residents, families, and staff

Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Previous experience driving a passenger van, medical transport, or similar preferred
  • Experience working with elderly or healthcare populations strongly preferred
  • Ability to safely operate wheelchair lifts and secure mobility devices (or willingness to train)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lift, push, and assist residents as needed
