Job description

A Licensed Funeral Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing funeral and memorial services while providing compassionate support to grieving families. They ensure all arrangements comply with state and federal regulations, oversee the preparation and transportation of the deceased, and coordinate with cemeteries, crematories, clergy, and other service providers. Funeral directors guide families through service options, complete required documentation, and handle administrative and financial aspects of funeral operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with families to arrange funeral, memorial, burial, or cremation services.
  • Coordinate all aspects of funeral services and ceremonies.
  • Ensure proper preparation, care, and transportation of the deceased.
  • Complete and file legal documents, permits, death certificates, and insurance paperwork.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to families throughout the funeral planning process.
  • Manage scheduling, staffing, and service logistics.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Oversee facility operations and maintain professional relationships with cemeteries, crematories, and vendors.

Qualifications

  • Valid New Jersey State Funeral Director License.
  • Valid Driver’s License
