Job description

About OneMain Financial

OneMain Financial is the largest non-bank lender in the U.S., proudly serving millions of customers with safe, affordable, and transparent installment loans and credit cards. We are an innovative, digital-focused company who is transforming the way our customers think about and use financial products.

About the Digital Team

At OneMain, we are building and scaling industry-leading digital experiences across web and mobile. To do this effectively, we need a consistent, reliable way to understand how customers interact with our products.

As the Lead Product Manager - Digital Instrumentation & Enablement, you will define and scale the systems that power how we capture, structure, and activate customer behavioral data across our digital ecosystem.

You will own the strategy and execution for digital instrumentation-ensuring that teams across product, analytics, and marketing can confidently measure customer behavior, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and data, and is critical to enabling high-quality experimentation, analytics, and customer experience optimization.

About the Role

At OneMain, we are scaling digital experiences across web and mobile, and need a consistent, reliable way to understand how customers interact with our products. As the Lead Product Manager - Digital Instrumentation & Enablement, you will own the strategy and execution for how behavioral data is captured, structured, and made usable across the organization. You will define instrumentation standards, ensure data quality, and enable product, analytics, and marketing teams to confidently measure and optimize customer journeys.

In this role, you will establish event tracking standards, drive data quality, and embed measurement into the product development lifecycle so teams can make informed, data-driven decisions. You will operate at the intersection of product, engineering, and analytics, partnering closely with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure that what we measure is consistent, trusted, and actionable across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement a standardized event taxonomy, naming conventions, and event schema across all digital products, ensuring consistent and reliable behavioral data captured through our instrumentation frameworks

  • Own and evolve the client-side instrumentation strategy (e.g., Hydra), establishing clear standards for how user activity is tracked, structured, and transmitted across web applications

  • Establish and enforce data governance for instrumentation, including ownership models, required event properties, and clear guidelines for how data is captured, named, and maintained

  • Lead the effort to improve data quality and reliability by introducing validation frameworks, monitoring, and processes that ensure accuracy and completeness of behavioral data

  • Partner with product and engineering teams to embed instrumentation requirements into the product development lifecycle, ensuring features are not released without proper tracking and measurement

  • Audit existing implementations across tools and applications to identify inconsistencies, fragmented tracking approaches, and gaps in data, and drive prioritized remediation efforts

  • Align client-side behavioral data with backend systems and business outcomes, reducing reliance on downstream data stitching and improving the usability of data in Snowflake and other analytics platforms

  • Define and standardize core identifiers (e.g., user, session, transaction) and ensure consistent usage across systems to address identity fragmentation and improve data integrity

  • Develop and execute a roadmap to reduce dependency on legacy systems (e.g., Landable) and enable a more scalable, decoupled, and maintainable data architecture

  • Drive adoption of instrumentation standards across teams by providing reusable templates, documentation, and tooling that reduce implementation friction and improve consistency at scale

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)

  • 8+ years of product management experience, including leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in digital analytics, instrumentation, or data platform environments

  • Demonstrated experience defining and implementing event tracking, tagging strategies, or clickstream data systems across web and/or mobile applications

  • Strong technical fluency, including understanding of APIs, data flows, event-driven architectures, and front-end/back-end integration patterns

  • Proven experience defining and enforcing data standards, governance models, and event taxonomies across multiple teams in a fragmented or legacy environment

  • Experience working with or modernizing legacy data systems and reducing dependencies on tightly coupled or ungoverned platforms

  • Ability to align behavioral (front-end) data with backend systems and business outcomes, reducing reliance on downstream data stitching

  • Demonstrated success driving adoption of new standards and processes across engineering and product teams, particularly in environments where instrumentation competes with delivery priorities

  • Hands-on experience with analytics and data platforms (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Heap, Snowflake, or similar tools)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with or evolving a custom instrumentation framework (e.g., internal tracking libraries or event collectors)

  • Familiarity with identity and session tracking challenges (multiple IDs, session stitching, etc.)

  • Experience working in financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries

Location:

This role is Hybrid. You should be located within a commutable distance to one of our offices located in New York City, NY, Wilmington, DE, Baltimore, MD, Charlotte, NC, Fort Worth, TX or Irving, TX with expectations of being in the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Salary:
Target base salary range is $110k-$165k, which is based on various factors including skills and work experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a competitive compensation program that is based on individual and company performance.
