Position Description:
Advance your career as a UX Designer on a collaborative Agile team supporting the modernization of mission-critical supervisory systems for a federal agency. You'll take ownership of user experience design for complex web applications, drive user research and usability testing, and collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders. If you're passionate about delivering accessible, intuitive, and impactful digital experiences-and ready to grow your influence and skills-this is your opportunity to make a difference in a mission-driven environment.
This position is located in our Lafayette, Louisiana office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
. Lead the design of user interfaces and workflows for web applications, ensuring usability and Section 508 accessibility compliance
. Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to inform and validate design decisions
. Translate requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs using modern design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, etc.)
. Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams (developers, product owners, stakeholders) to deliver user-centered solutions
. Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and documentation
. Apply human-centered design (HCD) and best practices to create engaging, efficient, and accessible user experiences
. Present design concepts and findings to technical and non-technical audiences
. Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog refinement
. Mentor junior designers and provide feedback to elevate team design quality
. Stay current with UX trends, tools, and accessibility standards
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
. 3-5 years of professional experience in UX/UI design for web applications
. Proficiency with design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar)
. Demonstrated experience with user research, usability testing, and iterative design
. Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and usability best practices
. Working knowledge of Section 508 accessibility standards and inclusive design
. Experience collaborating in Agile or cross-functional teams
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
. Eligibility for federal background investigation and compliance with security requirements (U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency with 3+ years residency)
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
. Experience designing for enterprise or regulated environments
. Familiarity with HTML/CSS and front-end development concepts
. Experience with DevSecOps or Agile software development environments
. Certifications in UX, HCD, or accessibility
. Experience mentoring or guiding junior designers

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $63,700.00 - $156,700.00.
