The Joint, Office of the Secretary of War, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of War (DoW), Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues. The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the DoW. These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSW(A&S)), DARPA, Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future. We have a need for a Network M&S Analyst to provide onsite support in Alexandria, VA. Responsibilities The Analyst will lead and conduct advanced analysis of Command, Control, and Communications (C3) architectures, information exchange pathways, and network-enabled mission workflows across current and future DoW systems. The analyst will conceptualize, design, and evaluate new technology integration concepts, representing complex architectures through clear, digestible products for senior decision-makers. Responsibilities include leading the development of digital architectural representations, integrating emerging capabilities into mission-level simulations, and performing detailed modeling and simulation (M&S) analyses to assess operational impacts, system performance, resilience, and technical feasibility. The analyst will guide concept maturation, synchronize network/architecture products with joint kill chain frameworks, and contribute expertise across Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), Global Fires, and Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2). The role requires the ability to independently plan analytic tasks, collaborate with technical teammates, oversee the translation of conceptual ideas into simulation environments (AFSIM, ArcherEye, STORM, or similar), and present analytical findings to senior leadership with precision and clarity. Qualifications Required: * Active TS/SCI clearance. * Bachelor's degree in mathematics, operations research, computer science, engineering, or related technical field. * 7+ years of experience analyzing complex systems, operational architectures, or C3/IAMD/JADC2 mission threads. * Demonstrated experience developing architecture artifacts for future system integration. * Proven experience leading or conducting Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (M&S) using quantitative tools. * Ability to convert operational concepts into digital or simulation-based representations. * Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical ideas to senior non‑technical audiences. * Ability to work fully onsite at SPA HQ (Alexandria, VA). Desired: * Master's degree in mathematics, operations research, computer science, engineering, or related field. * Subject matter expertise in Kill Chains, C3, Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), Global Fires, or JADC2. * Experience modeling in AFSIM, ArcherEye, STORM, Command PE, or similar mission-level M&S tools. * Experience developing concepts of employment (CONEMP), information flow models, or network risk assessments.
