GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor’s degree in environmental or related field with five (5) years of experience in environmental. Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience preferred.

2. Associate’s degree in environmental or related field with seven (7) years of experience in environmental. Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience preferred.

3. Must have working knowledge of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VDEQ), Department of Defense (DoD, ), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE), regulations.

4. Work experience with environmental regulations relating to hazardous waste.

5.Working experience in ISO 14001 environmental management systems (EMS).

6. Working experience in physical security preferred.

7.Working experience in the field of explosives/pyrotechnics preferred.

8. Working experience with DoD and Army physical security and Operations Security (OPSEC) regulations preferred.

9. Possession of Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Environmental and Safety Compliance Officer® (CESCO) or similar preferred credentials.

10. Must possess time management skills and can multi-task and problem solve.

11. Must be able to work and communicate well at all levels, internal and external to the organization.

12. Must be courteous, tactful, and objective while working to ensure that quality, environmental, production, and service objectives are maintained throughout the organization.

13. Must have the ability to make judgments based on factual data and manage multiple activities.

14. Background knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 preferred.

15. Be able to read, speak, and understand English language.

JOB DUTIES:

1. Provide guidance and direction for the Environmental and Security Department for PBG.

2. Implement, obtain, and maintain ISO 14001 certification for PBG

3. Oversee and manage the Security Specialist and Hazardous Waste employees.

4. Ensure all environmental and security manuals, programs, policies, and practices are current to Federal/State laws/regulations and meet the needs of the company.

5. Responsible for external/ internal environmental and security audits.

6. Responsible for all Hazardous Waste collections and disposal per VDEQ regulations.

7. Responsible for waste reduction program.

8. Responsible for the physical security and Operations Security program.

9. Lead the investigation of environmental near-miss incidents and accidents.

10. Assist in planning, development and tracking of environmental/ security training sessions, inspections and audits following up to ensure completion of action items.

11.Work with HR to ensure environmental and security training program meets all requirements and is conducted according to schedule.

12. Establish and report all environmental and security tracking metrics.

13. Must be committed to ISO and the company's Quality Management System using process approach and risk-based thinking methodologies in relation to Environmental and Security Department.

14. Shares accountability for the effectiveness of the Quality Management System in relation to Environmental and Security Department

15. Ensure the security requirements of DOD and BATFE are met for all storage and production areas of all PBG facilities

16.Ensure the Quality Policy and quality objectives are communicated to direct report employees.

17. Participate in Yearly Management Review of all ISO documentation as scheduled.

18. Participate in solicitation evaluations and Contract Reviews, when required.

19. Complete and administer scheduled Performance Reviews for direct reports.

20. Approve Weekly Time Sheets and requests for Vacation/ Personal days for direct reports as required.
