Job Summary:
Grocery TV is building a digital signage platform that runs across Android, webOS, and Tizen devices, and they are seeking a senior Android engineer with real embedded/signage experience to help them level it up. This role involves media playback, device management, content delivery, and platform reliability across a fleet of long-running devices.
Responsibilities:
• Media playback, device management, content delivery, and platform reliability across a fleet of long-running devices.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Strong Android development in Kotlin
• Experience building for digital signage, smart TV, streaming devices, kiosks, or similar embedded media platforms
• Comfort with concurrency, async, multithreading, and debugging race conditions and memory issues
• Experience building for 24/7 device uptime
Preferred:
• Experience with the signageos.io platform
• Android SoC work (Amlogic, Rockchip, Qualcomm, MediaTek)
• Media3 / ExoPlayer, hardware decoders, video playback pipelines webOS or Tizen
• MDM / fleet management, MQTT
• Performance tuning on constrained hardware
