Role Description This full-time remote Mortgage Loan Officer role focuses on guiding borrowers through the mortgage process from initial inquiry to closing. The Mortgage Loan Officer will consult with clients to understand their financial goals, explain loan products, and recommend suitable mortgage solutions. Daily responsibilities include originating and processing mortgage applications, gathering and reviewing financial documentation, coordinating with underwriting and processing teams, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies. The role also involves maintaining regular communication with clients, providing clear updates, resolving questions, and delivering a high standard of customer service. Mortgage Loan Officers will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure timely, accurate, and smooth loan closings while promoting Cross Country Mortgage’s values and service standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Loan Officer with a strong understanding of loan origination processes and borrower consultation skills.
  • Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry, including current products, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in Mortgage Lending practices, including application review, documentation analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Familiarity with Underwriting principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with underwriting teams.
  • Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and manage client expectations.
  • Relevant state mortgage licensing and NMLS registration, or eligibility and willingness to obtain required licenses.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills, with attention to detail in a remote work environment.
  • Comfort with mortgage origination software, CRM tools, and secure digital communication platforms.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to ethical lending practices.
