Job Summary

Responsible to lead contract team in the interpretation and formulation of contracts, and supports team members in understanding policies, procedures, methods, operating practices, and performance standards. Facilitates effective implementation of contract responsibilities within program objectives and requirements. Reviews and resolves the most complex issues and contracts. Advises management of contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of terms and conditions.
Essential Functions
-Negotiate agreements with vendors ensuring timely completion, accurate terms and market competitive rates.
-Build strategies to reach contract and savings targets in line with organizational expense management objectives
-Deliver savings, risk mitigation, and operational efficiencies as a result of successful contract negotiations
-Provides advice and guidance to the various contracts team members regarding contract development and negotiations.
-Create, edit and review the most complex contracts.
-Assist management in the development of goals and objectives for the contracts team.
-Find opportunities to improve business processes and/or savings opportunities and devise plans to implement these changes
-Participate in RFP evaluation, market analyses, contract negotiation and contract execution


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration or a related field of study required

  • Master's Degree in related field of study preferred

  • Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree


Experience

  • 5+ years of experience required in strategic sourcing, commercial contracting or contract management in healthcare


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Expertise in contract negotiations, cost savings, vendor management, and customer service.

  • Possesses strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects with shifting deadlines.

  • Strong digital literacy and knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Exemplify creative problem solving abilities.

  • Requires minimal direction from leadership and possesses the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
