• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental and emotional well-being and establish appropriate treatment plans based on their unique needs.
• Facilitate individual therapy sessions for clients of all ages, providing effective interventions for a wide array of mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma.
• Lead couples therapy sessions aimed at fostering healthy relationships, enhancing communication skills, and addressing conflict resolution.
• Maintain client progress records meticulously, ensuring that treatment plans are regularly reviewed and adjusted in response to client outcomes.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide integrated care and holistic support for clients, ensuring continuity in treatment.
• Engage in crisis intervention strategies to support clients experiencing acute distress or emergencies, providing immediate and effective assistance.
• Stay informed about the latest developments in marriage and family therapy, incorporating best practices and new research findings into your therapeutic approach.
• Adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines and ethical standards, ensuring clients feel safe and respected throughout their therapeutic journey.
• Advocate for clients' rights, empowering them to make well-informed decisions regarding their mental health treatment.
• Encourage clients to engage in self-care and wellness activities, promoting overall mental and emotional resilience.
• Utilize electronic health record systems for documentation and ensure that all client interactions are recorded in compliance with legal and ethical requirements.
• Present the counseling center professionally in all communications, upholding its values and mission.

Our client base is diverse, comprising individuals, couples, and families from various backgrounds. As a therapist at Family Health and Counseling Services, you will have the opportunity to work with adolescents, adults, and couples facing a range of challenges, including relationship conflicts, individual mental health disorders, family dynamics, and more.

• Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
• Active licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist through the State of Maryland is required.
• Demonstrated experience in providing individual and couples therapy, with a focus on evidence-based practices.
• Adeptness in conducting timely client assessments and maintaining organized records.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

• Experience working with children, teens, and families preferred.
• Proficient in teletherapy and skilled in using remote platforms for effective therapy delivery.
• Demonstrated capability in crisis intervention and conflict resolution strategies.
