Job Summary/Description:
The Sports Anchor and MMJ is responsible for gathering daily sports content for newscasts and digital platforms at KOLO. They are also responsible for anchoring the weekend sports segment. The sports anchor/MMJ works directly with the Sports Director to execute the strategy for coordinated sports coverage. This role demands high-energy, on-air talent, strong storytelling, and extensive knowledge of sports.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with the Sports Director to execute their strategy for the department, shooting/editing video, posting content to digital platforms, and fostering relationships with local athletic teams.
- Delivering on-air sports reports, highlights, and live shots from field events, along with developing engaging feature stories.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in the sports field.
- Proficiency in non-linear editing (Edius).
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field.
- Ability to work under tight, fast-paced deadlines and strong on-camera presence.
