Job description

Healthcare Relationship Manager, Director
Citi is seeking a Director-level Healthcare Relationship Manager to join the Commercial Bank's growing Healthcare Industry Vertical, covering companies across Medical Device, BioPharma, Tools & Diagnostics, Life Sciences, Digital Health, and Healthcare Services. In this senior client-facing role, you will lead new business development, manage a portfolio of complex commercial relationships, and leverage Citi's global network across capital markets, cash management, rates, and foreign exchange to deliver tailored financial solutions. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape client strategy, guide cross-functional teams, and drive meaningful commercial outcomes within one of the most dynamic sectors in commercial banking.
Responsibilities
  • Lead new business development by identifying, pursuing, and onboarding clients aligned with Citi Commercial Bank's value proposition across the Healthcare Industry segment.
  • Advise clients on customized financial solutions by collaborating with product specialists and subject matter experts across credit, capital markets, cash management, rates, and foreign exchange.
  • Deepen existing client relationships by proactively identifying cross-sell opportunities, owning execution, and delivering timely market intelligence, strategic insights, and forward-looking financial guidance.
  • Oversee the end-to-end credit relationship for each client, supervising the full credit process to ensure compliance with institutional policies and sound risk management standards.
  • Structure complex and global credit transactions independently, applying expert-level credit judgment and guiding team members through the deal approval process.
  • Execute strategic commercial banking initiatives at the group, bank, and market level, contributing to the broader growth agenda of Citi's Commercial Bank.
  • Evaluate risk across all business decisions with transparency, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and Citi's policies while escalating and resolving control issues promptly.

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 15 or more years of experience in corporate and commercial banking, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex client relationships, including international markets, and deliver measurable business results.
  • Expert-level commercial credit skills, including the ability to structure all credit deal types independently, manage global transactions, and apply advanced knowledge of credit processes and risk appetite frameworks.
  • Expert-level Early Warning Detection capability, with a track record of identifying and proactively addressing emerging client or portfolio risks before they escalate.
  • FINRA Series 79, 63, and SIE licenses, either currently held or the ability to obtain them within a defined timeframe.
  • Deep knowledge of banking and investment products, with the ability to deliver sound financial advice and tailored solutions across a broad and sophisticated client base.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate multi-functional teams to deliver a seamless, high-quality client experience under time-sensitive or high-pressure conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally and to rapidly prioritize across competing demands.
  • Desire to develop and mentor junior bankers and assist with broader talent management initiatives.
