Overall Purpose Of The Job
The Security Specialist, Information & Analysis (I&A) is an integral member of the Aviation & Maritime security team, responsible for the collection, monitoring, analysis, and delivery of aviation security intelligence in a 24/7 operational environment in accordance with MedAire Aviation Alert Thresholds and the AVSEC Alert Quick Reference Guide.
The role requires the ability to identify, prioritize, and escalate aviation security events while producing timely, accurate, operationally relevant and analytically robust client-facing outputs supporting informed decision-making in time-sensitive environments via MedAire's Content Management System (CMS).
The Security Specialist, I&A will create, update, publish, and maintain all aviation security content housed within the MedAire CMS, ensuring accuracy, consistency, formatting compliance, and proper lifecycle management of alerts and standing content, in line with Aviation Alert Reporting Thresholds and the AVSEC Alert Quick Reference Guide. The position also contributes to operational readiness, client advisory support, and continuous improvement of aviation security reporting, processes, and intelligence outputs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Continuous scanning and monitoring of global and regional sources for aviation security-related incidents and emerging AVSEC risks.
  • Application of Aviation Alert Reporting Thresholds to determine reportability, alert type, and escalation pathway.
  • Identify, prioritise, and escalate events in accordance with Aviation Alert Reporting Thresholds and operational guidance.
  • Execution of the full AVSEC alert lifecycle including Investigating, Confirmed, Standard, and Stand-Down alerts.
  • Drafting, publishing, updating, and maintaining alerts in the MedAire CMS in accordance with the AVSEC Alert Quick Reference Guide.
  • Apply appropriate formatting, tagging, mapping, and categorisation to enhance clarity and client understanding.
  • Production of high-quality client-facing aviation security reports, assessments, advisories, and consultations.
  • Maintain standing content and ensure it remains accurate, relevant, and aligned with current threat environments.
  • Support client queries and provide timely, accurate, and actionable intelligence outputs.
  • Maintain situational awareness and apply sound judgement during fast-moving or high-impact aviation security events.
  • Contribute to forward-looking analysis, including identification of emerging risks, trends, and early warning indicators.
  • Support operational planning and readiness by conducting targeted research against specific intelligence requirements.
  • Collaboration with global aviation, regional security, content, and assistance teams to support operational readiness and client engagement.
  • Contribute to global "follow-the-sun" operations and support clients across regions on a rostered basis.
  • Support continuous improvement of reporting standards, workflows, and intelligence processes, and contribute to consulting or client engagement activities where required.
  • Continuous identification of risks to aircraft, airports, and airspace.
  • Consistent application of AVSEC alert thresholds.
  • Structured execution of alert lifecycle stages.
  • Clear assessment of probability, impact, and operational relevance.
  • Delivery of concise, accurate, and actionable aviation security intelligence.

CMS & Technology Requirements
  • High level of technological proficiency with demonstrated ability to work within MedAire's CMS (Umbraco).
  • Ability to create, edit, preview, publish, update, and archive aviation security content without error.
  • Adherence to CMS governance, alert lifecycle management, duplication avoidance, and quality assurance standards.
  • Confidence working with structured digital publishing environments under time pressure.
Required Skills and Knowledge
  • Strong working knowledge of the aviation industry, including airports, aircraft operations, and airspace risk.
  • Demonstrated understanding of aviation security threats and AVSEC alerting discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and synthesise multiple information sources into clear, actionable intelligence. Advanced research, analytical, and synthesis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to produce client-ready intelligence products, and tailor outputs to operational and client needs.

Required Work Experience
  • Experience in security intelligence, aviation security, risk analysis, or a closely related field.
  • Experience working in time-sensitive or operational environments.
  • Experience producing intelligence outputs for professional or operational audiences.
  • Prior exposure to global or regional security dynamics and to the aviation sector is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in client-facing or advisory roles (preferred).
Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in security studies, international relations, aviation, or related discipline; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
  • Postgraduate qualifications or additional training in intelligence, aviation security, or risk analysis (desirable).
Required Languages
  • Fluent in English.
  • Additional languages are an advantage.
Travel / Rotation Requirements
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including shift work, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Ability to respond effectively during high-tempo or crisis situations.
  • May require travel or surge support depending on operational needs.
