Job description

Your Opportunity

At Schwab, youโ€™re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us โ€œchallenge the status quoโ€ and transform the finance industry together.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a fullโ€‘time basis without employer sponsorship.

We believe in the importance of inโ€‘office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate to work on site 4 days per week in one of the specified locations.

This is an ideal stretch for someone who already knows EquiView and has been delivering financial reporting capabilitiesโ€”ready to broaden scope, lead larger releases, and drive decisions across multiple stakeholder groups.

Schwabโ€™s Workplace Services (WS) supports retirement, stock plans, and designated brokerage services for corporations and their employees. EquiView is Schwabโ€™s proprietary equity (stock plan) recordkeeping system used by corporate Stock Plan Services (SPS) clients. As EquiView continues to scale, the WS Digital Product Management team is seeking a Product Owner with experience in equity compensation financial reporting (ASC 718/IFRS 2) to lead delivery of highโ€‘impact enhancements for our corporate B2B clientsโ€”partnering across Product, Technology, Reporting, Risk/Compliance, and Client Services.

The Product Owner leads complex, crossโ€‘functional initiatives that advance Schwabโ€™s enterprise equity compensation platform, with a strong emphasis on financial reporting capabilities and client outcomes. You would be responsible for driving major product enhancements, largeโ€‘scale client initiatives, system and data migrations, and regulatoryโ€‘driven changes. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Product Owner navigates ambiguity, aligns diverse stakeholders, and delivers measurable business value across the platform.

The ideal candidate brings strategic product leadership and handsโ€‘on experience with equity compensation financial reporting, including ASC 718 and IFRS 2. Success in this role requires the ability to translate complex accounting, operational, and client requirements into scalable product capabilities that support internal teams and external clients.

This position partners closely with Product Management, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Reporting, Client Services, Compliance, and other stakeholders to define priorities, manage dependencies and risk, and ensure the successful delivery of highโ€‘quality solutions that support Schwabโ€™s equity compensation business and client objectives.

What youโ€™ll do
  • Leadership & Execution โ€“ Lead end-to-end delivery for complex, multi-release EquiView initiatives, including financial reporting enhancements and regulatory- and business-driven updates. Own scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, resourcing, stakeholder alignment, UAT strategy, and operational readiness for launch.
  • Partner with product owners, analysts, engineers, and stakeholders in an Agile environment to define problems, clarify requirements, and deliver incrementally balancing nearโ€‘term commitments with longerโ€‘term platform strategy.
  • Client & Partner Focus โ€“ Partner with business stakeholders, Engineering, QA, Reporting, Client Services, Conversion, Product Support, and Operations to define acceptance criteria, clarify functional behavior, resolve complex issues, and support client readiness, training, and post-launch adoption.
  • Strategyโ€“ Contribute to the product vision and roadmap for EquiView financial reporting and recordkeeping capabilities by combining market/regulatory awareness with internal stakeholder insights. Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce operational risk, and improve scalability for clients and internal teams.
  • Outcomesโ€“ Define success measures (quality, timeliness, adoption, and risk reduction) and drive delivery from discovery through launch. Ensure solutions are wellโ€‘documented, supportable, and aligned to client needs and Schwab operational controls.
What you have

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of 'challenging the status quo,' this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Product Owner, Product Manager, or equivalent experience leading backlog, roadmap delivery, and cross-functional outcomes.
  • Experience with equity compensation, stock plan administration, equity systems, or equity compensation financial reporting products.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues across data, process, and technology.
  • Track record of predictable delivery, proactive risk management, and clear stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with equity plan platforms, enterprise financial reporting systems, or EquiView financial reporting products.
  • Understand ASC 718, IFRS 2, and ESPP concepts.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery methods.
  • Equity Compensation Associate Level 1 certification or equivalent experience.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonuses or incentive opportunities.
