Position Overview

The Industry Strategy Manager of Digital Project Delivery will help define the strategy and go-to-market growth strategies for project delivery in the Autodesk Forma industry cloud, spanning design collaboration, design management, data management, and coordination.

You will contribute to a team that defines and executes on the industry strategy, including market opportunity analysis, customer value propositions, competitive analysis, partnerships, target audiences, and business models. You will work with cross-functional teams across Product, Platform, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success, among others.

You must possess deep knowledge in BIM and have delivered digital projects across multiple disciplines. This includes design collaboration and coordination across firms, the handoffs across the project lifecycle, and the ISO 19650 information management practices and Common Data Environments that hold them together. You will need to be an effective communicator and coalition builder who thinks strategically, writes concisely, and presents as easily to a working group as to a conference stage. You must be able to work across a matrixed organization, use data to drive business decisions, and bring recommendations forward rather than wait for direction.

Autodesk is in a period of exciting and dynamic change as we continue to expand market share through various business growth initiatives and our transition to cloud. The successful candidate will have input into the shape, direction, and growth of the organization as we transition through this change and plan for the future.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the digital project delivery vision and strategy for Autodesk, informed by internal and external research across the market, competitors, and customer audiences

  • Lead cross-functional programs that take a digital project delivery initiative from strategy through launch, coordinating across teams to a shared plan and timeline

  • Help shape the strategy for design management, the system that gives project teams control and visibility of design production, from deliverable planning through progress measurement and forecasting

  • Support the regionalization of our offerings, working with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Legal on packaging, positioning, compliance requirements, and how public owners buy

  • Work with product teams to translate how project teams design, coordinate, and deliver work into product requirements, value propositions, and market-facing positioning, representing the voice of the customer on price, package, position, and business models

  • Work with the strategy team to create business cases to drive sales channels, partnerships, and mergers & acquisitions, and the executive briefings that carry them

  • Monitor business performance; document and report on usage, adoption, customer acquisition and retention, and adjust go-to-market plans

  • Build and maintain the business plan for digital project delivery growth, including adoption, expansion, and customer migration paths

  • Work with sales to develop and achieve success, define and develop appropriate sales plays and tools, and support marketing execution to create the content behind them

  • Represent Autodesk within industry organizations and at industry events, and as a point of contact for industry specialists, research analysts, key press, and other third parties

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS, BArch, BEng or equivalent degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field

  • 8+ years of experience working within the AEC industry, or in strategy, product management, consulting, or go-to-market roles serving it

  • Demonstrable experience delivering projects across multiple disciplines, including design collaboration and coordination across firms

  • Experience planning or managing design production at project or program scale, including deliverables, schedule, progress measurement, and forecasting

  • Working knowledge of ISO 19650 information workflows and of how information requirements are defined and validated

  • Experience with cloud-based design, collaboration, and management tools targeting architects, engineers, contractors, and owners

  • Ability to travel, including internationally

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA

  • Knowledge of cloud and SaaS technology and business landscape

  • Exposure to US public sector owners at federal, state DOT, or municipal level, or familiarity with public procurement and contract vehicles

  • Familiarity with ERP and project controls data, and how resource, cost, and progress data connect to design production

  • A track record of research that changed a decision - a market sizing, competitive read, or customer study that redirected a plan

  • Experience building business cases and forecasts for a product or portfolio, and reporting results against them to senior leadership
