We are looking for a talentedRePower Program - Project Engineering to join our team specializing inEngineering for our Cummins center located inTroy, MI. 

This product focused position applies knowledge of engineering principles and design practices to create optimized design concepts and mechanical design specifications considering application, cost, weight, performance, reliability, durability, manufacturing, assembly, and serviceability. This role effectively communicates the capability of a design concept to meet cross-functional requirements including assessment of alternative and competitive design concepts, and works effectively across cross-functional disciplines to develop corporate and customer requirements including those required to resolve product issues. 

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Product Development Execution: Drive endtoend product development by planning, coordinating, and executing activities that meet requirements, quality expectations, and project timelines. 
  • Failure Mode Avoidance: Strengthen product reliability by identifying potential failure modes early and implementing mitigation strategies that prevent issues before they reach customers. 
  • Modeling & Simulation: Influence design decisions through computational modeling, simulation, and analysis that predict system and component performance. 
  • Interface Integration: Ensure seamless system performance by defining, analyzing, and controlling interfaces across system boundaries and executing structured integration plans. 
  • Product Problem Solving: Resolve complex product issues using datadriven rootcause analysis and implement longterm corrective actions that protect the customer experience. 
  • Verification & Validation: Develop and execute validation plans, interpret analytical and physical test results, and guide requirement negotiations to ensure product capability. 
  • Requirements Engineering: Translate stakeholder needs into clear, verifiable system requirements and manage their evolution throughout the product lifecycle. 
  • Technical Documentation: Capture and communicate technical knowledge to enable efficient collaboration, knowledge transfer, and improved engineering productivity.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Analytical Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve issues using structured rootcause methods, risk assessments (including FMEA), and simple engineering calculations to support driveaxle and OEMfocused design work.
  • Technical Communication & Collaboration: Communicate clearly, document thoroughly, listen actively, and work effectively within crossfunctional teams while following established processes and asking questions to deepen understanding.
  • HandsOn & Digital Proficiency: Demonstrate strong handson skills, confidently read engineering drawings, and use Microsoft applications and engineering tools to support daily technical tasks and continuous learning.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.
Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making. Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
