Seeking a SAFE Certified Product Manager for our customer, a large healthcare payor organization in Reston VA (primarily remote, but meetings do occur 1-2x per month in Reston VA). The selected candidate will manage end-to-end Digital Product Delivery of team and internal projects from the initial kickoff to coordinating major launch milestones to maintaining and enhancing program performance over time. Guides clients through key decisions, communicates and coordinates activities internally and across departments. Works on new needs for process and improvements and identifies and articulates internal client needs to the technology team.

Essential Functions:

  • 35% Coordinates with internal client and internal teams to launch, maintain, and enhance complex Products. Guides internal clients through key decisions and communicates and coordinates activities internally and across network of stakeholders.
  • 20% Manages and updates Product roadmaps, Issues/Action Items/Risks, and help product maturity.
  • 20% Identifies and articulates new customer needs to the product teams.
  • 10% Manages all aspects of implementation including ordering applicable equipment, overseeing installation, assisting with and supporting of Product/Feature creation, managing communications, and reconciling metrics upon completion.
  • 15% Ensures and drives deliverables to completion per the product schedule.

This position is a long term contract opportunity. Although primarily remote, there will be two (2) meetings onsite in Reston VA per month. We are seeking candidates in drivable distance to Reston VA.

Required Skills:

  • Education Level: Bachelor's Degree (Masters preferred). In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
  • Certification Level: SAFE Certification Required. Any Product Management certification is considered a plus (e.g., Pragmatic Institute, AIPMM, Product School)
  • Experience: 10 years experience in a product operation roles (career progression) with a minimum of 5 years in a product management capacity.
  • Strong Product Management Background: Experience in owning and driving various stages of the product lifecycle, including ideation, development, launch, and ongoing improvement. Road mapping / visionary experience is required.
  • Experience working within a LARGE organization is required (1K+ employees at min) with strong product management cultures, showcasing their ability to collaborate across teams, adopt best practices, and drive a product-first mindset.
  • Analytical and Technical Aptitude: A strong foundation in analyzing data and applying insights to product decisions, with a bonus for technical acumen that supports work in AI/ML environments.
  • Software Stack: ServiceNow, Jira, entire MS Office Suite
  • Experience in driving Customer focused enterprise wide initiatives - influencing Tech and Business departments
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Preferred:

  • Experience in AWS, AI/ML related projects considered a BIG PLUS. Candidates with some experience in exposure to AI/ML-based product development is highly preferred
  • Experience in moving orgs from Program to Product Management Mindset consider a HUGE PLUS
  • Aha.IO - Road Mapping tool

Must haves:

  • Safe certification is required. Any sort of Product MGT certification would be a big plus.
  • Dedicated Digital Product MGT background. Min 5 years. Full understanding of Digital Product MGT lifecycle. Must be the roadmap/visionary level (not looking for a product owner for requirement gathering/BA type of work. We are looking for a step above that)
  • Basic Exposure to one or all to get the start: AWS, AI, ML
  • Coming from a LARGE organization
  • Outstanding communication skills / Confident demeanor
  • Software Stack: ServiceNow, Jira, entire MS Office Suite
