If so, the Crop Protection Network with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is seeking applicants for a Digital Program Assistant! The Digital Program Assistant (50% appointment) supports the Crop Protection Network (CPN) by coordinating digital resources, technology support, and program operations that enhance the accessibility, usability, and impact of CPN's educational programs and digital tools. The position assists with multimedia production, website content management, online educational resources, technical support, and program reporting while helping ensure that CPN resources are delivered efficiently to researchers, Extension professionals, crop advisors, and other stakeholders.

Working closely with the CPN Directors and contributors across the network, the Digital Program Assistant provides technical assistance, supports digital communications, maintains online resources, and assists with the day-to-day operation of CPN's digital platforms and educational programs.

This position will be classified as a Program Assistant II.

What You'll Do:

  • Support the production and distribution of CPN digital content, including podcasts, videos, website content, YouTube resources, transcripts, captions, newsletters, and other multimedia products. Assist with posting and maintaining website content, ensuring digital resources are accurate, accessible, and consistent with CPN branding and accessibility standards.

  • Provide technical assistance to CPN contributors and stakeholders using CPN and EDDMapS tools and digital resources. Assist with user support, troubleshooting, accessibility requirements, online training, webinars, and digital platforms. Serve as an initial point of contact ("help desk") for users experiencing technical issues and coordinate solutions with internal staff and external partners when appropriate.

  • Support day-to-day CPN operations by maintaining databases, compiling program metrics, assisting with reporting, tracking project outcomes, coordinating digital assets, supporting meetings and workshops, and assisting with grant reporting and other administrative functions that support CPN programs.

This is a part-time, benefits-eligible position working 20 hours per week. We offer flexibility in scheduling and can work with candidates to establish a schedule that meets both operational and personal needs.

This is a fixed term position with an end date of 6/30/2028 with the opportunity for renewal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience providing technical support or user training.

  • Experience providing administrative support.

  • Experience managing content for websites, social media, etc.

  • Familiarity with agriculture, crop production, crop protection, entomology, plant pathology, agronomy, integrated pest management, or Extension programs.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
