Job description

As a Printing Machine Operator at this industry-leading printing company, you'll work with a team in a large production facility using some of the most advanced technology on the market today. You'll play an essential role in the creation of print materials for clients all over the world using traditional printing methods such as digital, electrostatic, ink-jet, offset lithography, gravure, flexography, and letterpress. Basic computer skills, attention-to-detail, and teamwork are key factors for success in this role.
A typical work day consists of:
  • Preparing, operating, and maintaining print machines
  • Running several presses with different size and color capacities
  • Inking presses accordingly, loading paper, and adjusting the press to the paper size
  • Managing ink distribution, speed, and temperature in the drying chamber
  • Troubleshooting print problems and correcting paper tears or jams
  • Making quick corrections to avoid expensive losses of paper and ink
  • Proofing images electronically using digital presses

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • You'll be standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting/moving anywhere from 10-70 lbs.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Continuous hand, eye, arm and foot coordination
  • Will often be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and mechanical vibrations and noise
  • As a 24/7 production facility, you may be required to work overtime, weekends and holidays
