Job description

Location: Erie, PA

Position Overview The Digital Print & Production Specialist is the heartbeat of our center’s physical output. You are responsible for transforming digital designs into high-quality physical products. This role requires a balance of technical machine operation and skilled hand-assembly. You will manage the workflow of roll-to-roll and flatbed printers while utilizing digital finishing tools to ensure every sign meets our brand standards. If this job interests you, but you don't have experience, no worries! We'll teach you what you need to know!

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhering to a Schedule: The sign industry is a deadline based business. You must keep track of jobs and tasks your department has assigned to them, and adhere to the timelines set out by project managers.
  • Print & Plotter Operations: Set up and operate roll-to-roll and flatbed printers. Operate the digital cutter and laser systems for precision trimming and routing.

  • Professional Finishing: Mount, laminate, and trim digitally imaged products. This includes operating the laminator for over-laminating.

  • Vinyl Application: Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images and apply graphics to various substrates (PVC, Aluminum, Acrylic) according to work orders.

  • Quality Assurance: Proofread signs and conduct pre-/post-production inspections. You are the final check for color accuracy, spelling, and physical defects.

  • Inventory & Shop Care: Monitor stock levels (substrates, inks, vinyl) and report reorder needs. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area.

  • Installation Support: Assist with on-site sign installations and learn the technical skills required for vehicle graphic applications.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine daily/weekly maintenance on printers and cutting equipment to ensure peak performance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to learn and operate proprietary print software and digital cutting equipment. Must be comfortable with computer skills.

  • Precision Math: Must be proficient in adding/subtracting fractions and converting to decimals; mastery of a tape measure is non-negotiable.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive hand-motion tasks (squeegee application) at a waist-high table.

  • Detail Oriented: A "measure twice, cut once" mindset with a sharp eye for color and alignment.

  • Professional Attitude: Commit to being respectful, honest, and constructive with your coworkers. We are a zero drama team that supports each other on our professional journey.
