About the Opportunity

LINK is actively seeking a Multimedia Information Designer that will combine visual communication, photography, videography, and digital media to create compelling content that informs, engages, and inspires audiences. This role serves as a versatile multimedia storyteller who captures authentic moments, develops high-quality visual assets, and transforms complex information into engaging communication products across print, digital, video, and experiential platforms.

Working closely with communication strategists, social media managers, designers, and client stakeholders, the Multimedia Information Designer supports strategic communication campaigns through photography, video production, motion graphics, digital signage, social media content, and traditional information design. The ideal candidate is an adaptable, creative problem solver who enjoys wearing many hats and is equally comfortable behind a camera, editing in Adobe Creative Cloud, designing graphics, or developing digital content for live events and strategic campaigns.
Leveraging human-centered design principles and strong visual storytelling skills, this role helps clients communicate their missions, document important events, strengthen organizational culture, and engage internal and external audiences through high-quality multimedia experiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Photography, Visual Communication, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Multimedia Production, Journalism, Film, Information Design, Communications, or a relevant experience.
  • 5-10 years of professional experience in multimedia production, photography, videography, visual communication, graphic design, or a related field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Active clearance preferred.
  • Experience documenting maritime operations, industrial environments, shipyards, or engineering programs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in professional photography, videography, and multimedia storytelling.
  • Experience planning, capturing, editing, and delivering high-quality photo and video products from concept through final production.
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling, composition, lighting, audio capture, color correction, and post-production workflows.
  • Experience supporting strategic communications, organizational storytelling, marketing, or public affairs initiatives.
  • Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, and After Effects.
  • Experience designing digital communication products across print, web, video, and social media platforms.
  • Strong understanding of human-centered design, visual communication principles, accessibility considerations, and information hierarchy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Portfolio demonstrating excellence in photography, videography, graphic design, and/or multimedia storytelling.

Responsibilities

Multimedia Storytelling & Content Creation

  • Plans, captures, edits, and delivers professional photography that supports strategic communications, leadership engagement, organizational storytelling, recruiting, events, and operational activities.
  • Produces high-quality video content from concept through final delivery, including planning, filming, directing interviews, recording b-roll, editing, color correction, audio mixing, captioning, and motion graphics.
  • Develops multimedia stories that communicate client missions, accomplishments, initiatives, and organizational priorities.
  • Identifies compelling visual narratives that connect audiences with people, missions, and outcomes.
  • Maintains visual consistency across photography, video, and graphic design products while reinforcing client and LINK brand standards.
  • Organizes and manages digital media assets, including photography libraries, video archives, metadata, and content management systems.
  • Collaborates with designers, strategists, communication professionals, researchers, and client stakeholders to develop multimedia solutions aligned with communication objectives.

Graphic Design & Visual Communication

  • Partners with cross-functional teams to transform complex information into clear, engaging visual communication products.
  • Develops infographics, presentations, posters, digital graphics, and communication materials that improve understanding and support decision-making.
  • Applies information design, visual storytelling, and human-centered design principles to create communication products across print and digital environments.
  • Creates custom graphics  and supporting visual assets that strengthen multimedia storytelling.
  • Ensures products maintain visual consistency, accessibility considerations, and high standards of design excellence.

Digital Media & Social Content

  • Partners with communication strategists and social media managers to develop multimedia content supporting integrated communication campaigns.
  • Creates platform-appropriate photo, video, animation, and graphic assets for social media, websites, newsletters, and internal communication channels.
  • Produces short-form video content optimized for digital platforms and audience engagement.
  • Supports campaign planning by recommending multimedia approaches that maximize audience reach and communication effectiveness.
  • Adapts content across multiple formats and platforms while maintaining visual quality and brand consistency.

Digital Signage & Experiential Communications

  • Designs and develops digital signage content supporting organizational communication, leadership messaging, events, visitor engagement, and facility communications.
  • Collaborates with communication teams to develop content calendars and messaging for digital signage systems.
  • Supports live events through multimedia production, presentation graphics, photography, and video coverage.

Creative Operations & Innovation

  • Identifies opportunities to improve multimedia workflows, production quality, and creative processes.
  • Maintains proficiency with emerging multimedia technologies, photography equipment, video production techniques, AI-enabled creative tools, and communication platforms.
  • Assists in developing reusable templates, production standards, asset libraries, and multimedia best practices.
  • Maintains photography, video, lighting, audio, and production equipment while ensuring operational readiness.
  • Brings creativity, curiosity, adaptability, and a solutions-oriented mindset to every engagement.

Work Schedule

  • On-Site work in Washington D.C. 3+ days per week
  • Full time, 40 hours per week
  • Some travel required to attend relevant events and conferences, and participate in LINK team events

Salary: LINK is committed to offering competitive compensation. While the salary range for this position is $71,000 - $90,000, your final offer may be adjusted based on factors such as experience and location.
