What is the highest paid job in digital marketing?

The highest paid roles in digital marketing are typically senior executive positions such as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) or Vice President of Marketing, with salaries often exceeding six figures. These roles require extensive experience, strategic leadership skills, and a deep understanding of digital channels and analytics.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Digital Marketing Fellow, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Digital Marketing Fellow, you need a solid understanding of digital marketing principles, content creation, analytics, and often a relevant degree or coursework. Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, social media platforms, email marketing systems, and SEO/SEM tools is typically expected. Strong communication, creativity, and adaptability help you effectively engage audiences and respond to fast-changing trends. These skills are crucial for driving successful campaigns, measuring impact, and contributing to an organization's online growth.

Can I get a digital marketing job with no experience?

Digital marketing fellow roles often require some knowledge of marketing concepts, social media platforms, and analytics tools, but many entry-level positions are open to candidates with little or no experience. Gaining skills through online courses, certifications, or internships can improve your chances of securing such a role. Employers may also value a willingness to learn and strong communication skills.

International Justice Mission (IJM) is the global leader in protecting vulnerable people from violence around the world. Our team of over 1,200 professionals is at work worldwide in over 30 offices. Together we are on a mission to rescue millions, protect half a billion, and make justice unstoppable.
We are a global community that cares for one another. We believe that the way we work is as important as the results we achieve. We provide professional excellence with joy and celebration to all those we serve.
The Need
For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. Nine out of nine times in the last decade, IJM's Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Digital Marketing Manager to develop and execute integrated digital marketing strategies that drive awareness, engagement, revenue growth, and mission impact across all digital channels.
This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington, DC area or remote for non-local candidates. It reports to the Director of Digital and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategy, execution, and delivery of integrated digital marketing campaigns across IJM's digital channels;
  • Execute high-impact digital campaigns across website optimization, SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media, and audience personalization to drive awareness, engagement, and conversion;
  • Leverage marketing technology platforms, including CDPs, marketing automation, and analytics tools, to deliver personalized digital experiences and continuous optimization;
  • Partner with Creative, Communications, Product, Technology, and Fundraising teams to ensure coordinated, mission-aligned messaging;
  • Translate campaign objectives into clear requirements for landing pages, user journeys, and integrated digital experiences in collaboration with UX and development teams;
  • Analyze campaign performance, user behavior, and conversion data to inform testing, optimization, and performance improvements;
  • Manage paid media performance, budget allocation, and agency relationships to maximize return on investment;
  • Guide content structure, publishing workflows, and governance within CMS platforms in collaboration with technology partners;
  • Ensure all digital marketing activities align with brand standards, compliance requirements, and campaign KPIs; and
  • Participate in IJM's community of spiritual formation.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in digital marketing, design, development, user experience, or a related field;
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in digital marketing with demonstrated success managing multi-channel campaigns;
  • At least two years of experience managing digital marketing teams or functions;
  • Proven success developing and executing digital marketing strategies that drive revenue growth and audience engagement;
  • Experience integrating and evolving marketing technology platforms;
  • Deep experience with digital marketing and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, CDPs, marketing automation tools); and
  • Strong understanding of SEO, SEM, email marketing best practices, and audience personalization strategies.

Critical Qualities:
  • Eager commitment to IJM's Core Values: Christian, Professional, and Bridge-Building;
  • Strategic systems thinker with a strong analytical mindset and results orientation;
  • Collaborative, mission-driven leader who builds trust across teams and disciplines;
  • Clear communicator able to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders;
  • Disciplined, detail-oriented, and effective at prioritization;
  • Passion for creating user-centered digital experiences that drive action; and
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and a learning mindset.

Application Process:
Upload Resume, Cover Letter, and Statement of Faith* in one PDF document.
*What is a Statement of Faith?*
A statement of faith should describe your Christian faith and how you see it as relevant to your involvement with IJM. The statement can be incorporated into the cover letter or submitted as a separate document and should include, at a minimum, a description of your spiritual disciplines (prayer, study, etc.) and your current fellowship or place of worship.
What Does IJM Have to Offer?
