Description
SAIC's Solutions & Technology Group (STG) is seeking an experienced MBSE Sr. Digital Engineer to join our team of experts. This position will support the development, execution, and maturation of cutting-edge Digital Engineering solutions in support of Defense, Federal Civilian, and/or National Security customers and their systems. This role focuses on advancing model-based systems engineering (MBSE), digital engineering (DE), and system-of-systems (SoS) capabilities to address evolving engineering challenges and deliver mission success.
This position requires onsite work in San Diego, CA. Flexibility to travel up to 10% of the time is required for this role. You will work alongside a team of experts and stakeholders in a dynamic, mission-driven environment to advance cutting-edge capabilities in support of national security objectives.
As a thought leader and systems engineering expert, you will support the integration of MBSE methodologies and standards for the development of structured expressions, SoS architectures, and mission engineering frameworks to enhance program solutions and strengthen national security capabilities.
You will work alongside a team of experts and stakeholders in a dynamic, mission-driven environment to advance cutting-edge capabilities in support of national security objectives.
Below are the primary duties and responsibilities of this position:
  • Develop and execute digital engineering and MBSE solutions for complex military systems and missions.
  • Build and optimize digital models for requirements capture and analysis using MBSE techniques, SysML, and tools like Cameo/MagicDraw or Rhapsody.
  • Design and model system-of-systems (SoS) architectures, understanding structured expressions and capturing complex interactions and ensuring technical coherence.
  • Promote and implement systems/digital engineering best practices to improve mission outcomes, enhance stakeholder collaboration, and enable advanced simulations and analyses.
  • Apply Mission Engineering principles to design and evaluate solutions aligned with operational scenarios and mission objectives.
  • Represent technical work in working groups, exchange meetings, and executive briefings to communicate progress, insights, and innovative concepts.
  • Supporting upskilling engineering teams on MBSE standards and methods, fostering proficiency across projects.
  • Oversee systems engineering processes throughout the lifecycle, including architecture, requirements, CONOPS, interface control, and verification.
  • As required, support business development through proposal generation, customer engagement, and crafting innovative solutions tailored to mission challenges.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry advancements, and tools to integrate innovative practices into digital engineering methodologies.

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of related experience; OR Master's with 3+ years of experience; OR PhD with 1+ years of experience

  • Proficient in briefing complex topics to senior leaders and producing high-quality technical documentation.
  • Skilled in integrating Mission Engineering principles into system solutions.
  • Familiarity with tools like ModelCenter, AFSIM, SIMULIA, DNG, and RQM for multidisciplinary modeling & simulation, analysis and lifecycle management.

Desired Skills:
  • OMG Certified System Modeling Professional (OCSMP) certification.
  • INCOSE certification (ASEP, CSEP, ESEP) based on experience.
