The ideal candidate is a natural problem solver who partners cross-departmentally to turn audience data into high-impact and engaging digital campaigns that advance SEPA's strategic priorities.

This position reports to the Director, Marketing Strategy & Engagement and works in lockstep with internal teams across Membership, Programs and Events, and External Communications to ensure all digital outreach and automated campaigns align with SEPA’s master narrative and messaging priorities.

Responsibilities and Key Impact Areas Marketing Automation Operations & Data Governance
  • Serve as the primary marketing owner for our marketing automation tools, including Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot) and Salesforce Marketing Cloud, collaborating directly with our internal IT team and Salesforce administrator to align data streams, maintain high deliverability standards, and monitor domain health.
  • Create segmented, targeted outreach lists within Salesforce and Fonteva based on member type, user behavior, and interest-based categories to shift from broadcast sends to personalized, segmented sends.
  • Manage the production and deployment of email communications, establishing high-quality standards and comprehensive testing workflows to ensure all lifecycle and email communications go out on time, on message, and without error.
  • Collaborate with the External Communications team to ensure all external outreach across marketing and communications are strategically aligned.
Digital Campaign Copywriting & Messaging
  • Craft engaging copy across email subject lines, body copy, and calls-to-action that communicate SEPA’s unique value, deepen member participation, increase resource downloads, and boost event attendance.
  • Draft concise, high-impact copy for short-form digital channels, including event reminders, SMS alerts, and in-app or digital notifications.
  • Test and experiment with new email formats and interactive elements, collaborating cross-functionally and with designers to improve communication performance within brand guidelines.
Member + Event Lifecycle & Performance Analytics
  • Member Journey Automation: Partner with the membership team to design and deploy targeted automated nurture sequences that support member recruitment, new member acquisition, and prospective members, as well as re-engagement campaigns to support member retention.
  • Programs & Events: Create, schedule, and execute automated, engagement-driven email sequences to drive event registrations and interest for flagship in-person and digital convenings, including RE+, Energy Evolution Summit, Fact Finding Missions, and SEPA digital offerings.
  • Build and execute full-lifecycle pre-, during-, and post-event engagement content strategies to maximize attendee retention, navigate participant experiences on-site, and provide continued value post-event, using email, in-app notifications, and SMS.
  • Track platform engagement metrics, maintain a centralized reporting dashboard, and generate actionable insights on campaign performance to deliver data-driven recommendations.
  • 5+ years of progressive professional experience in email marketing, lifecycle marketing, marketing automation, or digital communications.
  • Hands-on experience mapping member journeys, building automated email sequences, and driving multi-channel B2B event recruitment and promotional campaigns.
  • Strong digital copywriting, editing, and communication skills, with a proven ability to write persuasive, short-form copy that motivates audiences to take action, register for events, or download resources.
  • Demonstrated experience working inside marketing automation platforms. Experience with Salesforce, including Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot) or Salesforce Marketing Cloud is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing best practices, including audience list management, basic HTML template editing, deliverability standards, and privacy compliance including CAN-SPAM and GDPR.
  • Experience creating strategies across multi-channel environments, including email platforms, SMS and app notifications.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a proven ability to manage complex cross-functional workflows, maintain strict quality control and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong collaborative communication and interpersonal skills, with experience partnering across complex internal and remote teams to coordinate workflows and achieve shared organizational results.
  • Passion for clean energy or experience in the energy industry is a plus.
