Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Internship:

You will go through an extensive training program that enables you to become familiar with plant operations, and to develop knowledge of meat processing production, including good manufacturing practices, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points, food safety, quality, process control and regulatory compliance.

As a Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Intern you will learn the various aspects of the business as well as be assigned a project that aligns you with our operational needs. You will be trained in various areas required to learn basic skills to understand the process to complete assigned projects.

Your Work

Our FSQR labs are located in an industrial/processing plant environment. Our plants are fast paced and exciting. This job involves physical activity which generally requires a moderate amount of exertion on a fairly regular basis involving bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, working on irregular surfaces, occasional lifting of objects weighing over 50 pounds and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds. The work may also involve other exertions, conditions or exposures (i.e., heat, cold, working in wet environment).

Internship Details
  • Internships are paid and are at least 16 weeks in duration.
  • Interns are paid hourly for time worked.
  • Interns are responsible for transportation to and from work.
  • Interns who demonstrate outstanding performance and a curiosity to learn more may be offered an internship, co-op or full-time position to return the following year.

Required Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a Bachelors degree or diploma in Animal Science, Food Science, Ag Business, Ag Econ, Engineering, Business Administration or related fields and graduating between December 2027 and May 2029
  • Able to complete a 16 week internship May through August 2027
  • Proven ability to work optimally with individuals from a diverse set of backgrounds and cultures
  • Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work with limited guidance
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
