Description

The Digital Delivery Manager (DDM) will provide the vision and leadership for the delivery of all aspects of digital project delivery for the WTR Global Practice (GP). The DDM coordinates with a variety of professionals and teams within the Practice to promote overall GP goals:

  • The DDM will provide leadership and direction for the GPs Digital Delivery Specialists (DDS) as well as other senior CADD/BIM staff in establishing standards and methods related to digital delivery execution. The DDM will represent the WTR GP in corporate-level meetings and committees that address digital delivery, modeling, data governance, technology stack and similar items. DDM will be a key point of contact in representing the GP in meetings with digital delivery product vendors. The goal for the DDM in this regard will be to develop a unified and coordinated approach to digital data collection and delivery and the development of construction model deliverables.
  • The DDM will collaborate with CDB and GP leadership to develop a Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) strategy for the WTR Global Practice, ensuring it aligns with broader corporate digital initiatives. A key aspect of this activity will be to champion the use of VDC methods to improve project outcomes, drive efficiency, and create value for our clients. The DDM will act as the primary liaison to the CDB Global Practice to ensure a cohesive and synergistic approach to VDC adoption and innovation across the organization.
  • The DDM will coordinate with Project Managers and delivery teams to identify risks, opportunities, and level of effort required to deliver digital delivery elements as a part of the scope and fee development process. During project execution, the DDM will work with DDS and other CADD/BIM staff to select appropriate design platform(s) and the design model throughout the project life cycle, and to manage field data capture methods including LiDAR, drone video and others.
  • The DDM will work with the Business Development (BD) team to identify opportunities and risks associated with incorporating digital delivery into our service offerings and project delivery. DDM will provide insight and education of digital delivery services and products that BD professionals can use to enhance and expand service offerings to our clients.

The Digital Delivery Manager will be responsible for fostering a culture of proactive communication, continuous improvement, and a focus on growth and profitability. The position will assist project teams and managers in the development of the digital project management strategy for furthering Burns & McDonnell's position, and facilitating the integration of technology with WTR activities, pursuits, and projects.

What you will do:

  • Facilitate collaboration with regional offices to coordinate digital delivery (DD) business plans.
  • Develops DD/BIM Project Execution Plan, Project Criteria, DD Scope.
  • Communicates BIM coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Works with Construction Teams on design/build projects to coordinate fabrication models in field and better utilize VDC tools and approaches.
  • Works with CDB and WTR to develop a VDC roadmap for the WTR Global Practice, and serve as a main point of contact for discussions and planning related to VDC.
  • Works with delivery teams to provide project models for digital turnover to construction teams and clients.
  • Leads and collaborates with Digital Delivery Specialists, BIM Coordinators, and Project CAD leads in establishing and maintaining CADD/BIM standards, templates and resource libraries.
  • Review and approve utilization and methods associated with project digital delivery metadata, including but not limited to asset management and digital twin development.
  • Manage the acquisition, training, and ownership of field data collection instruments such as LiDAR, and to manage the post-processing of collected field data.
  • Run digital model presentation effort with delivery teams and clients.
  • Participates in development of virtual reality simulations.
  • Participates in proposal process to incorporate DD aspects.
  • Leads or participates in the development of project construction simulations.
  • Coordinates delivering digital products to clients.
  • Assist with project pursuit decisions including "go no-go" decisions, marketing strategies, proposals, pricing, contract terms and conditions specific to digital delivery.
  • Direct QC process to monitor the development of digital delivery scopes of work, schedules and budgets during the pursuit process and during execution to help highlight any potential digital delivery issue areas.
  • Responsible for monitoring project metrics and meet with Project Managers to: Promote and confirm implementation of Burns & McDonnell Quality Control procedures; Oversee implementation of project management methods, procedures, and tools; track and oversee schedule development and compliance on projects; identify and oversee implementation of effective change management practices on aviation & federal projects; proactively work through corrective actions where deficiencies are identified.
  • Supports and coordinates with Regional Office and BMI digital delivery staff development, quality control and resource coordination.
  • Assists with GP leadership in the recruitment, hiring and training of other digital delivery professionals
  • Responsible for interpreting policies, purposes and goals of the organization to fellow employee owners.
  • Adheres and responsible for Burns & McDonnell Quality Control program.
  • Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
  • Collaborates with Project Management and Business Development on DD topics.
  • Develops DD standards, processes to tools in collaboration with production departments.
  • Innovates / Communicates / educates GP about DD standards and processes.
  • Integrates DD into QA/QC process.
  • Responsible for digital quality control and quality assurance.
  • Manages clash detection / reporting / resolution process.
  • Manages Audits of DD models, meta data, reports, etc.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in virtual design and construction, Engineering Technology, or a related field from an accredited program and 8 years of experience planning, training, organizing, and delivering complex BIM models and related digital products across project teams. Required or
  • Associate Degree from an accredited program in related field and 10 years of experience planning, training, organizing, and delivering complex BIM models and related digital products across project teams. Required or
  • 12 years of experience planning, training, organizing, and delivering complex BIM models and related digital products across project teams in lieu of a degree. Required
  • Understands Traditional and Alternative project deliverables
  • Understands digital delivery software and standards , as well as the labor effort required to implement them..
  • Ability to integrate multiple BIM models across various software platforms.
  • Expert facilitation, collaboration, organization, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead and manage.
  • Excellent planning and analytical skills.
  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
  • Ability to execute and integrate DD into EPC projects.
  • Ability to meet physical demands within diverse working conditions.
