Position Overview

As a Digital Delivery Manager at Kiewit, you will serve as a technical leader in digital delivery, BIM strategy, and multidisciplinary coordination across complex infrastructure projects. In this role, you will provide expertise in design technology platforms, model-based workflows, and project execution strategies while supporting engineering, construction, and design-build teams.

You will lead BIM implementation efforts on large and complex projects, establish project-specific standards and workflows, and serve as a subject matter expert for digital delivery initiatives. This position is ideal for experienced BIM professionals, VDC leaders, engineering specialists, and design technology experts who are passionate about advancing model-based design and construction practices throughout the project lifecycle.

In addition to project support, you will contribute to enterprise-wide BIM standards, mentor developing BIM professionals, and help drive innovation through automation, process improvement, and emerging technologies.

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design Build Management team are driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects to manage their multi-disciplined design teams to improve schedule, control costs, and minimize risk. Particularly on large design-build projects, clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. This position is based out of San Jose, CA, with travel to project offices and job sites throughout Northern California and other Kiewit operating districts as required

Responsibilities

BIM Leadership and Digital Delivery

  • Lead BIM execution and digital delivery efforts for large, complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), model governance procedures, and coordination workflows.
  • Serve as the primary BIM advisor to project leadership, design managers, discipline leads, and construction teams.
  • Align BIM deliverables and digital workflows with project objectives, contractual requirements, and client expectations.
  • Facilitate and lead multidisciplinary model coordination meetings and clash resolution efforts.

Model Management and Quality Assurance

  • Establish and maintain project model health standards, quality control procedures, and model review processes.
  • Monitor project models for compliance with company standards, client requirements, and project execution plans.
  • Perform advanced model audits and identify opportunities to improve model quality, performance, and constructability.
  • Track and manage model coordination issues from identification through resolution.

Enterprise Standards and Process Development

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Kiewit's BIM standards, templates, content libraries, and digital delivery workflows.
  • Evaluate new technologies, workflows, and software platforms to improve project delivery efficiency.
  • Develop best practices and lessons learned for implementation across multiple projects and business units.
  • Support enterprise initiatives related to BIM, VDC, digital delivery, reality capture, GIS integration, and digital twins.

Automation and Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve consistency through workflow automation.
  • Support implementation of advanced technologies including reality capture, model-based construction, data integration, and digital project delivery initiatives.
  • Lead pilot programs and technology evaluations supporting future digital delivery strategies.

Training and Technical Mentorship

  • Mentor BIM Specialists, designers, engineers, and discipline modelers.
  • Provide technical leadership and support across multiple projects and project teams.
  • Develop and deliver training programs related to BIM standards, software platforms, and project workflows.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for BIM and digital delivery technologies.

Construction and Design Integration

  • Support integration of BIM workflows with estimating, scheduling, procurement, construction planning, and field operations.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to improve constructability reviews and model-based decision making.
  • Assist project teams with implementation of model-based coordination and field workflows.
  • Support digital turnover and asset information management requirements where applicable.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, Architecture, Construction Management, Drafting Technology, or related field. In lieu of degree, equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 8+ years of relevant BIM, VDC, or digital delivery experience supporting infrastructure, transportation, industrial, or vertical construction projects.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary BIM coordination efforts on large-scale projects.
  • Experience developing and implementing BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
  • Advanced understanding of design and construction workflows, multidisciplinary coordination, and model-based project delivery.
  • Strong understanding of BIM standards, model governance, and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience facilitating coordination meetings and managing clash detection and resolution workflows.
  • Strong understanding of civil infrastructure systems, utilities, and construction means and methods.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information to project leadership and clients.
