KATU/KUNP seeks an experienced Digital Content Producer to join our team. We are looking for a candidate who is excited about producing news stories on multiple platforms. A successful candidate knows how to use analytics to guide story choices and understands the needs of different platforms. But first, you have to know and love NEWS!

Qualifications

  • Strong writing and editing skills; newsroom experience preferred
  • Knowledge of AP Style
  • Ability to create engaging digital and social media content
  • Basic photo editing skills; video production experience a plus
  • Strong news judgment and ability to gather information from multiple sources
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Adaptable, coachable, and eager to learn
  • Bachelor's degree required

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, publish, and update digital news content for KATU platforms
  • Cover breaking news across web, social media, video, and live platforms
  • Monitor news sources to identify and develop timely stories
  • Report and produce original local content with compelling headlines
  • Collaborate with newsroom teams to coordinate digital coverage
  • Enhance stories with multimedia, related content, and audience-focused storytelling
  • Create digital-first and social media content that drives engagement and traffic
