Job Summary

This role primarily focuses on administering the compliance program for the company's Career distribution channel, through drafting policy and procedures and compliance communications, reviewing and approving advertising/marketing material review, and overseeing sales practice matters. The Compliance Analyst will serve as an individual contributor reporting to the Director of Corporate Compliance, working in a hybrid capacity based out of our Clearwater, FL headquarters. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented compliance professional with hands-on experience in regulatory compliance, strong knowledge of healthcare and insurance industry regulations, and excellent communication skills. The Compliance Analyst will coordinate reviews of marketing material, develop and update internal policies and procedures, monitor regulatory changes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of compliance and ethical business practices.

Job Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and approve marketing, advertising, and sales materials(e.g., brochures, digital content, emails, social media posts, radio/TV scripts) across the captive agency's health insurance, life insurance, annuity, and ancillary product lines. Ensure all materials comply withapplicable regulatory requirements(such as state insurance advertising laws,NAIC model regulations for life/annuity products,CMS Medicare marketing guidelinesfor healthcare products) and align withinternal policiesand any relevant carrier requirements.
  • Draft, update, andmaintaincompliance policies and proceduresto reflect current state and federalhealthcare and insurance regulations.Translate regulatory requirements into clear internal policies.
  • Ensuretimelydissemination of new or revised compliance policiesto affected business units and provide policy changes as needed.
  • Monitorthe evolving regulatory environmentinhealthcare and insurance, including changes inlaws, regulations, and industry guidelines(e.g.,HIPAA, CMS rules, state Department of Insurance bulletins,NAIC advertising guidelines). Communicate regulatory changes and implicationsto management.
  • Assistwith agentconductcompliance monitoring and testingactivities,toidentifypotentialcompliance risks or violations.Investigate findings, document potential issues, andescalate compliance concerns for resolution. Collaborate in developing corrective action plans or recommending process improvements tomitigate regulatory riskand prevent recurrence.
  • Perform other compliance-related duties or specialprojects asassigned to support the Compliance department'sobjectivesand ensure continuous regulatory compliance.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 2+ years of experienceinregulatory compliance,marketing compliance, or related roles within theinsurance or healthcare industry. Hands-on experience reviewing insurance or healthcareadvertising/marketing materialsand developing or administering compliance policies and procedures isstrongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of relevant regulations and standardsgoverninghealthcare and insurance products, including areas such ashealth insurance and Medicare marketing rules (CMS guidelines),HIPAA,Affordable Care Act (ACA),state insurance laws, advertising rules, andNAIC model regulationsforlife insurance and annuities. Provenabilityto interpret regulatory requirements and apply them to business practices.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Insurance license(stateLife & Health Insurance Producer license)preferred but notrequired.
  • Proficiencywith standard business and compliance tools, includingMicrosoft Office(Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) for documentation and reporting. Experience with compliance management systems, document management platforms, orLearning Management Systems (LMS)is beneficial.
  • Exceptional analytical and research abilitieswith keenattention to detail, especially in reviewing documents andidentifyingpotential compliance issues.Excellent written communication skills, including experience drafting and editing policy documents or training materials.Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills to effectivelycollaborate with cross-functional teamsandprovideclear compliance guidance.
  • High ethical standards and integrityin handling confidential information and ensuring adherence to legal requirements.Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing regulatory demands. Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset to enhance compliance processes and controls.
