TITLE Digital Engagement & Marketing Assistant

DEPARTMENT Office of Belonging and Inclusion

REPORTS TO Associate Director of LGBTQ+, Belonging, and Identity Engagement

PAY RATE $15/hr

THE OPPORTUNITY

Supports the office's digital presence and promotional strategy to increase student awareness, engagement, and event attendance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Content Creation & Social Media

  • Develop and publish content across Instagram (posts, stories, reels)
  • Design and produce promotional materials (e.g., flyers, digital graphics) using tools such as Canva
  • Develop and publish content highlighting cultural heritage months, religious holidays, and awareness initiatives
  • Monitor direct messages and flag repost or collaboration requests to a supervisor

Marketing & Engagement Strategy

  • Develop creative strategies to increase student engagement and program attendance upon supervisor request
  • Identify trends and propose new outreach methods across digital and physical platforms
  • Maintain a consistent and engaging brand voice

Content Planning & Coordination

  • Regularly review the shared RISE Leader shared documents to plan weekly promotion of community conversations
  • Proactively follow up for missing event details as needed

Event Promotion & Coverage

  • Provide live social media coverage for events when appropriate
  • Create post-event recap content when relevant
  • Update LCD screens with our current promotional materials

Additional Duties

  • Support office events and initiatives
  • Facilitate community conversations as needed
  • Weekly office hours as needed
  • Work closely with Programs and Operations to align messaging and timing
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.
