Production Specialist / Digital Print Operator
Location: Seattle, WA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour DOE (Up to $26.00 per hour for highly qualified candidates)
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Production Specialist / Digital Print Operator to join our growing production team in Seattle. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced print environment, enjoys solving production challenges, and takes pride in delivering high-quality printed products that exceed customer expectations.
The ideal candidate will have experience with digital printing, file preparation, finishing equipment, and Adobe Creative Cloud applications. If you are a self-starter with strong technical skills and a commitment to quality, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize incoming orders based on customer requirements, workload, media selection, finishing needs, bindery requirements, and equipment capabilities.
  • Estimate production time and material requirements for projects.
  • Communicate production limitations and provide recommendations to production management and clients when requests cannot be met as specified.
  • Receive, process, edit, and prepare client files to ensure accurate production according to specifications.
  • Recommend appropriate media, substrates, bindery, and finishing solutions.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot digital printers, scanners, bindery, and finishing equipment.
  • Maintain inventory levels for media, substrates, ink, toner, bindery supplies, and finishing materials.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure all printed and finished materials meet company standards.
  • Package completed projects for will-call, local delivery, or shipping.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient production workspace.
  • Work overtime when necessary to meet customer deadlines and expectations.
  • Support other departments as business needs require.
  • Assist customer service by answering phones and taking messages when needed.
Qualifications & Skills
Required Skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including:
    • Acrobat
    • Photoshop
    • Illustrator
    • InDesign
  • Advanced knowledge of RIP software, including:
    • Onyx RIP Queue
    • Fiery (preferred)
  • Experience with cutting software; Colex Experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Thorough understanding of color printing, duplicating, bindery, and finishing processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Positive attitude with commitment to continuous learning and process improvement.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely handle and transport printed materials, media, and substrates without damage.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods while operating production equipment.
Required Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Graphic Design, Production Design, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a digital printing, reprographics, or production environment using graphic design, file preparation, and print editing software.
