What are digital assets?

Digital assets are any items of value that exist in a digital format and come with the right to use them. These include cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, digital files such as images, videos, and documents, as well as intellectual property stored electronically. Digital assets can be owned, transferred, or traded, and often require secure storage solutions. They are increasingly important in finance, media, and business due to the rise of blockchain technology and digital content creation.

How do professionals in digital assets roles typically collaborate with other departments within an organization?

Digital Assets professionals often work closely with teams such as IT, legal, compliance, and finance to ensure the secure management, transfer, and storage of digital assets like cryptocurrencies or NFTs. They frequently coordinate with compliance and legal departments to navigate regulatory requirements, and with IT to implement secure systems and protocols. Collaboration is essential to maintain asset integrity, adapt to evolving regulations, and ensure organizational objectives are met. Effective communication and cross-functional teamwork are key to success in this field.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a digital assets manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Digital Assets Manager, you need a strong understanding of digital asset management (DAM) principles, metadata standards, and experience with organizing large volumes of digital files, typically supported by a relevant degree or experience in library science, information management, or media. Familiarity with DAM software platforms (such as Adobe Experience Manager, Bynder, or Widen), cloud storage solutions, and digital rights management tools is essential. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across teams are crucial soft skills for success in this role. These competencies ensure that digital assets are efficiently stored, easily accessible, and properly maintained, supporting business operations and brand consistency.

Job description

As the Digital Asset & Product Data Specialist, you will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of brand photography assets, product information management (PIM), and cross-functional workflow automations! Positioned at the dynamic intersection of Creative Services, Brand, Sales, and Product Development, you will ensure seamless digital asset delivery to retail partners while maintaining strict metadata and SKU integrity. Serving as our technical systems subject matter expert, you will optimize operational workflows across Wrike, Salsify, DAM (Bynder/ResourceSpace), and Sage X3. Join our team to proactively resolve data discrepancies, build automated task flows, and drive process improvements that increase operational efficiency across our global brand workflows!
What You Will Do:
  • Oversee the intake, cataloging, taxonomy, and distribution of photography assets across enterprise DAM systems (Bynder, ResourceSpace) and product databases to maximize discoverability and reuse
  • Manage product data relationships within Salsify by proactively troubleshooting SKU linking errors, auditing metadata accuracy across retail assortments, and supporting technical integrations with our ERP platform (Sage X3)
  • Design, refine, and maintain dynamic request forms, automated task structures, and customized reporting dashboards within Wrike to eliminate manual steps and provide real-time status visibility
  • Act as a key operational liaison between cross-functional teams to align priorities, coordinate realistic sample timelines, and effectively track retailer launch dates
  • Enforce strict metadata standards, SKU/style code tagging, and file naming conventions while consistently upholding brand guidelines and packaging image quality specifications
  • Utilize advanced Excel and Google Sheets functions (such as XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and Pivot Tables) to reconcile sample tracking, perform system data cleanups, and identify operational inefficiencies
  • Lead continuous process improvement initiatives to improve global visibility around sample availability, seasonal changes, and deactivated SKUs

Supervisor Responsibilities: No
What We Are Looking For:
  • 4+ years in a dual DAM/PIM systems administrator or workflow optimization role, with proven experience building complex automations in Wrike, troubleshooting Salsify linking structures, and integrating data with ERP platforms
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Digital Asset Management (DAM), Product Information Management (PIM), and cross-functional workflow coordination within a consumer goods, retail, or entertainment setting
  • Advanced technical proficiency in project management automation tools, PIM platforms (Salsify), and enterprise DAM systems (Bynder or ResourceSpace)
  • Strong data analysis capabilities with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including complex lookup formulas, pivot tables, and data reconciliation techniques
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of successfully bridging technical, creative, sales, and product development priorities
  • Proven success leading process improvement initiatives that reduce cycle times, eliminate redundant photography requests, and optimize digital production pipelines

Nice To Have:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Digital Media, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus
  • Experience working with retail packaging assortments, PDQs, Packs, Blinds, and Bundles data structures
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically Photoshop and Illustrator) and digital photography production pipelines
