They ensure that these assets are easily accessible, properly cataloged, and securely stored, often using specialized digital asset management (DAM) software. Digital Asset Managers also establish best practices for asset usage, metadata tagging, and rights management to maximize efficiency and brand consistency. Their role is crucial for businesses that rely heavily on digital content for marketing, communication, and operations.

What is a digital asset manager?

A digital asset manager oversees the development and implementation of an asset management system. In this job, your duties are to inventory digital assets, develop effective databases, monitor all digital asset systems, and supervise new upgrades. Many digital asset managers take on additional responsibilities, such as managing content or providing training for system users. This career requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Additional qualifications include knowledge of digital asset management software, strong communication skills, and several years of prior management experience, often with a specific asset management system.

Job description

Interface is a global flooring and sustainability leader dedicated to rethinking how spaces work for people and the planet. Our portfolio includes Interface® carpet tile and LVT, nora® rubber flooring, and FLOR® premium area rugs. Across every brand, we innovate in a way that combines design, performance, and sustainability-without compromise.
Trusted by architects, designers, and building professionals worldwide, we help bring bold visions to life with solutions that deliver real, measurable impact. Building on more than 30 years of sustainability progress and industry-first innovation, we remain 'all in' on our goal of becoming carbon negative by 2040, without the use of offsets.
The Global Director, Digital Experience & Marketing Technology leads Interface's global digital customer experience, shaping the journeys we design and how customers engage with us across every digital touchpoint. Working in close partnership with brand, creative and digital marketing, the role turns experience goals into reality through the marketing technology that powers them, from our commerce and marketing cloud platforms to digital asset management and beyond.
Digital moves fast, and this role helps us keep pace. It continually evaluates our platforms and capabilities, brings forward new tools as our needs evolve, and leads how we put AI to work to create smarter, faster and more personalized experiences. In close partnership with IT, it helps manage our key technology partner relationships and holds them accountable to our standards, timelines and outcomes.
Reporting to the Global Head of Brand & Digital Experience, the role is a key member of that leadership team and leads a global team. The ideal candidate blends strategic thinking with hands-on platform knowledge, cares deeply about the customer, is comfortable using data and AI to drive decisions, and can translate business goals into digital experiences that move the needle.
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Digital, Communications, Information Systems or a related field preferred
  • Relevant platform certifications (e.g Salesforce, Adobe, etc.) are a plus

Skills and Experience:
  • 10 or more years in digital marketing, marketing technology or digital customer experience, with 3 to 5 years leading and developing teams
  • Hands-on experience owning marketing technology platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, digital asset management and sales enablement tools, and understanding how they connect into a cohesive stack
  • Experience designing and optimizing digital customer journeys, marketing automation and website UX and UI, including segmentation and personalization. B2B experience required, with B2C experience a strong plus.
  • Experience managing external technology partners and system integrators, including implementation and ongoing support, holding them accountable while keeping the relationship healthy
  • Experience supporting a global organization and team across multiple regions and time zones, driving consistency while adapting to local market needs
  • Experience partnering closely with IT, sales and commercial teams to deliver connected customer experiences
  • Strong strategic thinking that connects customer experience and technology decisions to business outcomes
  • Strong with data, analytics and AI, turning insight into action to improve performance and efficiency
  • Strong leadership and people development skills, with a track record of growing talent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate technical topics for non-technical audiences
  • Strong project management and prioritization across multiple initiatives and stakeholders
  • Understanding of global data privacy, consent and compliance, including GDPR in Europe, CCPA in the US and similar regulations in other markets
  • Collaborative, proactive and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Essential Duties:
Digital Experience Strategy & Innovation
  • Set and lead the strategy for Interface's digital customer experience across the full customer journey, in close partnership with brand, creative and digital marketing, from marketing automation journeys and lifecycle communications to website UX and UI, focused on usability, engagement and conversion
  • Define what a great digital experience looks like and translate it into the journeys, touchpoints and platform capabilities that bring it to life
  • Build and operationalize personalization and segmentation in platform, including segment build, journey logic, personalization rules and delivery
  • Identify and lead the adoption of AI use cases to improve customer experience, efficiency and speed to market
  • Own measurement of how our platforms and digital experiences are actually used and where they add value, running a continuous test, learn and optimize loop that sets and adjusts strategy based on that data rather than assumption
  • Lead future-focused innovation, including digital merchandising and sampling strategies, and stay current on trends to evolve how customers discover, sample and engage with our products online

Marketing Technology Platform Strategy & Management
  • Own the strategy, roadmap and performance of Interface's core marketing technology platforms, including Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe digital asset management, our translation platform and our sales enablement platform, making sure they work together to deliver the customer journeys and experiences we design
  • Establish governance, standards and best practices for platform use, data hygiene and quality across teams and regions, driving global consistency while allowing for local market needs
  • Partner with IT and Legal on data privacy, consent management and compliance across all platforms and regions, including GDPR, CCPA and other market-specific regulations
  • Own optimization of our ecommerce platform to improve site performance, functionality and the customer experience, working with IT and digital teams
  • Partner with IT on platform selection and new capabilities, providing marketing requirements while IT owns budgets, licenses and contracts

Partner, Vendor & Cross-Functional Relationship Management
  • In partnership with IT, help manage relationships with key technology platform and implementation partners, supporting selection and onboarding of new capabilities and holding partners accountable to agreed scopes, timelines, quality standards and outcomes
  • Partner with the Product Data team on product data quality, governance and hierarchy as it feeds our digital platforms and shapes the customer experience
  • Serve as the marketing lead connecting digital experience and technology work with IT, sales, commercial and ecommerce teams, aligning stakeholders on priorities, roadmaps and shared goals
  • Champion adoption, training and enablement so teams get full value from our platforms and tools

Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, coach and develop a global team of 3 to 4 people, setting clear goals and priorities, managing resourcing and workload, and building the capabilities and talent needed to grow the digital experience
  • Lead the team to deliver both the platforms and the customer journeys and experiences that run on them, connecting day-to-day execution to the broader experience strategy
  • Foster a collaborative, curious and accountable team culture, supporting career growth and helping the team build new skills, including in AI and emerging tools, while contributing to the broader marketing leadership team

Work Environment & Travel Requirements:
  • Hybrid work environment, Atlanta, GA
  • Frequent collaboration with global and cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Occasional travel as required for team meetings, partner meetings or events
