Asset Manager – Multifamily Properties
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Asset Manager to oversee the performance and success of a diverse portfolio of multifamily assets. This position plays a key role in partnering with ownership and property management teams to improve operational performance, maximize asset value, and achieve long-term goals.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, analytical thinker, and experienced multifamily professional who understands property operations, financial performance, and the importance of delivering exceptional results. This role will work closely with onsite teams and leadership to identify opportunities, implement strategies, and drive continuous improvement across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the financial and operational performance of assigned properties, ensuring alignment with ownership goals and company objectives.
  • Partner with property management teams to develop and execute strategies related to operations, capital improvements, occupancy, leasing, marketing, and resident experience.
  • Review property financial statements, operating reports, and performance trends to identify opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Analyze property performance on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis and provide recommendations to improve results.
  • Collaborate with management teams to develop, review, revise, and approve annual operating budgets.
  • Prepare forecasts, financial analysis, and reporting to support strategic decision-making.
  • Work closely with property leadership to resolve challenges, implement solutions, and improve overall performance.
  • Conduct property visits and inspections as needed to evaluate operations and identify opportunities.
  • Participate in property performance reviews and assist with improvement plans for underperforming assets.
  • Review capital requests, reserve submissions, insurance matters, and other property-related items for accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with ownership groups, lenders, partners, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage communication and follow-up related to operational requirements, reporting, and compliance items.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual portfolio reporting for ownership and leadership review.
  • Monitor completion of required compliance reporting and annual certifications.

Qualifications amp; Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, Economics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5–7 years of experience in multifamily property management, regional operations, or asset management.
  • Strong understanding of multifamily operations, budgeting, financial reporting, and performance analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and operational trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other computer-based reporting tools.
  • Ability to problem solve, prioritize, and make sound decisions independently.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with onsite teams, leadership, and external partners.
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage confidential information.

Work Environment amp; Travel
  • Professional office environment with regular communication through computer, email, telephone, and in-person meetings.
  • Position requires extended periods of computer and desk-based work.
  • Travel approximately 15% of the time for property visits, meetings, and inspections.
