They ensure that these assets are properly cataloged, easily accessible, and used in accordance with licensing or usage rights. Their role often involves working with digital asset management (DAM) systems, collaborating with creative, marketing, and IT teams, and maintaining metadata standards to improve asset searchability and workflow efficiency.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a digital asset coordinator?

Atlanta, GA | Full-Time | Hybrid
Are you ready to lead the evolution of media operations at a transformative moment? Scripps is seeking a Director of Media and Content Marketing Operations who will oversee all aspects of media managementโ€”from asset ingestion and organization to digital asset management (DAM) strategy and vendor coordination. This role is critical to ensuring our creative teams have seamless access to the media they need, when they need it, while helping modernize our workflows for the future.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Oversee all media management operations, ensuring assets are properly ingested, organized, and accessible across platforms and tools (CatDV, Frame.io, shared network storage, and emerging digital asset management (DAM) systems).
  • Partner with the Media Manager to maintain and evolve media organization standards, naming conventions, and distribution workflows for the broader team.
  • Serve as a senior stakeholder on DAM strategy and implementation, working cross-functionally with Engineering and Technology partners.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of media assets to teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide operational oversight and people management for the Audio team and Media Manager, ensuring both functions are resourced, supported, and aligned to organizational priorities.
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert and coaching resource for editorial workflows, Adobe Creative Suite tools, and color grading guidance as the team operates in a leaner structure.
  • Coordinate with Creative Directors to help outsource shoot production and manage vendor relationships for content acquisition and production needs.
  • Work closely with the Director of PM to ensure media operations are integrated into project workflows and timelines.
  • Collaborate with Graphics, Creative, Engineering, and other Marketing teams to maintain seamless asset handoffs and delivery standards.
  • Contribute to the evolution of content operations as the organization modernizes, identifying opportunities to streamline, automate, or restructure workflows in line with transformation goals.
  • Partner with the AI contractor and teams.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred.
  • Generally, 10+ years of experience in related field preferred.
  • Prior managerial experience preferred.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
  • Handsโ€‘on creative suite and editorial workflow proficiency.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and familiarity with AIโ€‘assisted tools for creative optimization; awareness of color grading standards and editorial processes.
  • Vendor Management: Experience outsourcing production, negotiating with vendors, and managing thirdโ€‘party content acquisition.
  • Crossโ€‘Functional Collaboration: Ability to partner with Creative, Engineering, Graphics, and Marketing teams to ensure smooth asset handoffs and consistent delivery standards.
  • Change Management & Process Improvement: Skill in identifying opportunities to streamline, automate, and restructure workflows to support organizational transformation.
  • AI Integration Awareness: Comfort collaborating with AIโ€‘focused teams to enhance media operations, automate repetitive tasks, and optimize asset accessibility.
  • Communication & Coaching: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to serve as a subject matter expert and coach for team members on best practices.
  • Analytical & Detail Orientation: Capacity to maintain high accuracy and attention to detail when managing large volumes of media assets.
  • Adaptability & Innovation: Ability to pivot quickly within a lean organizational structure and adopt emerging tools and methodologies.
  • DAM Expertise: Deep handsโ€‘on experience with DAM platforms, including governance, implementation, and driving adoption across teams.
  • Autonomous Leadership: Ability to own domain, make sound decisions independently, and drive outcomes without close management, proactive communication to leadership and across teams.
  • Vendor relationship ownership and partner management.
  • Working knowledge of shoot production workflows and agency relationships.
